The thing with this first year of his memories is they're intertwined with the agony of rotting out of his fresh cadaver - so they're not a lot of fun to scrutinize. Still, he does remember. It's just all of it can be explained away. Oh, Lemuel hired a plodman from the tannery to install his eyes? What a great sacrifice that was of him, what an amazing nad loyal brother. Oh, the eyes were intended for this? Perhaps he made some terrible deal with a Black Tongue and had them specifically made. Oh, no, does that mean Lemuel is in trouble???
