It's a straightforward way to show the foundation Cresce was built on, even if it's a foundation it doesn't live up to all the time. Sonorie isn't really about all this though, right? She has never leaned on populism. But she's finally going whole hog here and, I think, doing a pretty good job.
Her ultimate ambition and what she's done all this for is the Coppers' plan and a final solution to Alderode, but she's not gonna go in dry. Foreplay first. She needs trust.
