"Shipbuilder" is a very, very old-fashioned thing to call a Sharteshanian. Even Sette doesn't know what the turd means by it. Sharteshane was founded by seafaring raiders and they still have a strong maritime culture.
What else... lion's name is Jacaranda. Those are jacaranda flowers on his ears - his favourite - and apparently he put them on for Sette's sake. Maybe so he'd look less scary to someone not familiar with lions? A nice boy!
