Long ago in chapter 8, when Sette related to Duane what this horrible bird thing had shrieked at her - "Malakhomit" - Duane translated it as "Runaway." Sette, however, heard "Run away!" Now if you were a very close reader who paid attention to how Tainish works, you might have 'caught that -it ending and thought it sus. It's seen in Ssaelit and galit and many other Tainish words that are talking about something that a person is. And you might (and I know some people did) figure out that Sette misheard her attack zombie.
Now, what does Lady Ilganyag mean by her "runaways?" Let's see.

2024-06-10 17:12:26 +0000 UTCBetween "runaways" and how Minnow recognized Sette, I wonder if Sette is like, *a* sette? Like that's her senet beast type? Little lion-human hybrids. I dunno. I love the comic but I've never figured out any of the reveals ahead of time. Exciting scene though.
