Epilogue END

And that is the end of the first part of Unsounded! Our heroes will be okay. The wind may blow, but it's not taking them anywhere if they hang on to each other and keep moving forward. And yes, the Crescians misspelled poor Quigley's wholeass name and lied about his death. Propagandized in life, propagandized beyond. Duane is livid.

Thank you for all your support, patrons. I can't stress enough how much this story belongs to you. It would never have gotten to this point without your patronage. I would never have been able to make this my job and see it through to the end. I know sometimes we can feel like we're throwing our money at real landfill bullshit: merchandise, plastic Hollywood movies, whatever product is streaming this week. But you didn't. For whatever it's worth, you put some money directly into getting a story made. You paid for a few Sette smiles and more than a few dramatic drops of blood. Whatever else might be going on, I want you to feel good about this thing you helped make.

And it doesn't have to end if you're up for a sequel! "The Red Cost" launches January 5th of next year - a bright spot to ease the blow of heading back to school or work after the holidays.

I want to launch with a big drop of a prologue that'll pull you right back into the world. "The Red Cost" is weirder; squirmier. It dives headfirst into concepts that were a bit on the periphery of "Unsounded." Plods. The intricacies of the religions. The mechanics of Alderode. The learning of pymary. It's the story of a shitty little gang called the Tanners, the last days of the Adeliers, a great big revolution, a lion-tailed rogue's search for her destiny, a man's search for his ending, and a lot of people trying to survive a slow collapse they never asked to be a part of.

But while I'm working on it over the next few months I also want to have fun here. So stick around if you want to see concept art, previews of pages, and request doodles and naughty stuff. I ain't going anywhere :)

Monday I'll post info on the next fanworks contest. You'll have a long time to work on this one!

The Kickstarter is heading ever onward. Boy will I bet glad when this is wrapped up and you guys can get your books! Still closing in on the cover upgrade! I think next week I'll also preview some of the bonus comics! I remain so bad at marketing :D

i was away from the internet for a while for work.. only to find unsounded has "ended". oh man.. where to start.. its kind of hard to put into words. this comic captured my heart when i first read it. the writing was amazing, the setting was cool, and the characters were outstanding. Sette and the gang always put a smile on my face with their shenanigans and made me fear in horror when they had to deal with dark dark themes. it was just a blast to read it inspired me to start my own gang of characters which made me pick up the pencil and draw again. Ashley, you made one hell of a comic and thank you soo much for this. and i can't wait to see more of unsounded! :'))))) its funny.. all those years ago.. back on DA.. i think it was mid 2000s, i saw your stuff on a daily-deviations.. sette on a chair.. LOL never thought i would enjoy her comic so much

[walks in three days late with Starbucks] Man, my weekend was so busy that I didn't have the time nor the mental fortitude to properly read the update and absorb that this is It. What a journey this has been. Never did I think that way back in May of 2013, when my friend slid the first panel of Lem in Chapter 7 under my nose, that this comic would have such a profound impact on my life. Not only have the characters become amongst my most beloved ever, but the narrative and the stories and struggles of these characters became something that I structured my weeks around. I so loved the story you were telling us, loved the characters you were depicting, that Sunday night, Tuesday night, and Thursday night became "Update days," and I would eagerly await that 11:30 - midnight timeframe. I've also met the most amazing people through this comic and made such wonderful friends. That in itself is something I never expected to come of this journey. Unsounded has been my favorite piece of media for thirteen years now, and will remain so as The Red Cost sneaks in there to join it in that top spot (it's Alderode time, baby!!!!!) Thank you so much for Unsounded, Ashley. Thank you for sharing it with us and for putting up with my nonsense specifically. You're a real one. No one's doing it like you these days ❤️ Anyway, I gotta try to shake some words out of my brain for the fanworks contest now. Here's hoping I remember how writing works. P.S.: GOD THAT PROMO ART!!! LOOK AT MY STEP-DAUGHTER!!!! SHE LOOKS POSITIVELY SAVAGE!!!!!!!

Thanks for the kind words, Gally! I do have to say the subject matter of the sequel becomes more relevant to our times by the day :)

"d a lot of people trying to survive a slow collapse they never asked to be a part of." Well. they say write what you know...! What a great ending, IMO you pulled it off, if this was the end end i'd be content. BUT I LOVE THAT WE WILL HAVE MORE!!!
