Now, they tell you what to think and you have to decide if it even happened." Brian makes an interesting point, "You keep bringing more and ethical arguments to a financial fight." Which is true, but I think they are both right. As the army taught me, appearance is the most important thing. Even Sun Tzu talks about appearance. Applying a veneer of legitimate journalism serves their financial interests by hiding/counterbalancing what they know will appear extreme to some people. There's a difference between doing something and making money in the process and money being the driving motivation that justifies anything as long as it increases the bottom line.

2024-05-18 11:10:26 +0000 UTCI just listened to the latest report from The Newsagents Podcast, and they are interviewing a protestor who was beaten by police and he was savvy enough to spell out the dangers of AJ - at about 22 minutes. Essentially conspiracy theories get repackaged abroad as truth, and it's the acid test of whether you are radicalisable. Like a hypnotist tying an imaginary balloon to everyone's hand.

2024-05-18 07:44:48 +0000 UTCI just listened to ep 923 about May 1, 2024 in which Dan explained why Alex's claim that 80% of pregnancies in people who received the vaccine miscarried was bullshit. I just want to say that I'm truly impressed by Dan's ability to (1) read and interpret complex scientific literature and (2) explain that literature in a way that a non-specialist audience can understand. I'm in academia and I know how hard both of those things are. Huge kudos to Dan!
