Alright. Real quick, I already said this last week but I'll say it again now: I'm taking all of next week off. I always take Christmas week off and this year won't be an exception. So, I hope that everybody has a great weekend and holidays! And if you're not celebrating anything, I hope that you have a nice week in general.

That being said, let's get to some real quick good news.

So, a couple of weeks ago after I posted the start of the TQH rewrite, I talked about how I just still wasn't really happy with it after all. I talked about how I had more fun thinking about the story than actually writing it and all that stuff, and that there was still a pretty strong chance that I'd drop it after all.

Well, good news.

I believe I've found my interest in writing TQH again. I also completely started it over again from scratch. I realized that a lot of problems I had regarding how I felt about the story could be fixed if I just did something as simple as change the beginning. With the posted rewrite, I basically just copied the previous beginning but changed it up a little. This time, the beginning is still kind of the same, but the relationship between Woofen and Zurie is completely different. I won't spoil it, but I will say that the situation is far less forced onto him and he doesn't try to kill her in the first chapter anymore. The whole process of going from human/chosen to doggo/beast is a lot more consensual now which has also, in my opinion, made the plot and relations between characters feel significantly less forced.

I've actually been having fun writing some more TQH every day for the past few days. The first 3 chapters are ready to go, but I want to wait again until at least a few more are done before posting a batch of them. I'll probably write more over this weekend and hopefully post something for everybody before I officially go into mega lazy mode for Christmas week.

The True Endgame

Not really much that I can say without spoiling things, but I do feel like I'm doing an overall better job with the pacing this volume. Well, in the regard that plot progression is one of my  main priorities with this volume.

I guess that's kind of one of the best things about writing a ton of slice of life and having a much slower plot earlier on. All of the characters have been pretty heavily established by this point, so that lets me focus more on the plot side of things without having to worry as much about characterization and all that. We all already know Fenrir, Serra, Saya, etc. Since we already know them, I don't have to teach you about them while also trying to deliver the plot. Of course, that isn't to say there won't be further characterization and character growth and all that. It's just that writing plot is a lot easier to do when all the characters are already set up and known by the readers.

Now that I think about it... the Muv-Luv visual novels basically did the same. The first two games are just pure slice of life with barely any plot and very heavily focused on characterization. Then the third game comes around with you already knowing all the characters, and that's when all the intense plot and extreme suffering comes from.

But don't worry, TTE won't have any suffering. Extreme suffering, anyways.

Ero Dungeon Online

Something that I thought would be really obvious by now so far hasn't been pointed out by anybody. I don't know whether the people who have thought of it are just being quiet, or if nobody has seriously connected the dots yet.

But I won't say anything else about that.

Anyways, we're finally doing more dungeon-y stuff again! And I mean in regard to Damian's dungeon, not the game's PvE dungeons! Shocking, right?

Lazy Dragon Queen

Well, something pretty major happened in the last chapter, but I obviously can't talk about that here since people outside the 10 ahead tier might be reading this. What I will say, though, is that I am very, very much looking forward to the next chapter since it will be showing everybody's reactions to what happened. That should be a ton of fun to write, plus I figure it will be fun for people to think about how the other characters might react to it.

In Closing

I like when I type up weekly updates where I feel like I've actually talked about something even slightly more interesting than "lol i don't know what 2 say." Especially now that I've made the personal comparison between Muv-Luv and TTE in how it dealt with heavy characterization for basically the first 2/3rd of the series and then switched over to a focus on plot.
