Weekly Update #160

This was another rough week. It started with waves of depression on and off and then, once I was feeling better yesterday, my grandma had the worst dementia episode to date where she basically forgot the last 15 years of her life and was repeating the same questions over and over for about 5 hours straight. Then she got up in the middle of the night and was walking around confused having no idea where she is.

Fortunately, she has no idea how to open the door to go outside, so we at least don't have to worry about her leaving and wandering around.

But even so, I'm happy with the chapters I was able to put out this week despite everything affecting me. It was hard to come up with ideas this week and to write them down, but I managed.

That being said!

I think I've officially figured out what I'm going to do and start saving serious money for. And that would be... buying a jeep, slapping a roof top tent onto it, and going full digital nomad style. Drive to whatever national park or public land I want to and just set up camp there for a week or two at a time, move, and repeat while doing all my writing from a laptop in the middle of nowhere. Occasionally visiting whatever city I want for some good food. I want to get a jeep so that I can really do some offroading, too, and get to all those places less traveled. I was originally considering getting a van, but I'd rather have more options for where I can go.

I've only been camping and offroading a few times before, but I always had fun with it and loved it. Even if the one time I got scared as a child and wanted to go home because it sounded like a couple of animals were literally tearing each other apart in the woods right behind our tent. Like, seriously. That was absolutely a fight to the death there. Had no idea what it is, but we heard them killing each other.

He's got the exact setup I want and I already built a list of everything I'll need to sort of copy that... but yeah, it's going to cost some money. So, time to save up! Hoping to at least be able to get the jeep within a few months.

17 hours, 17,160 words. Hey, that ratio is actually pretty nice this week. About 1k words per 1 hour of writing on average. Though, I also forgot to log worldbuilding hours for my next project this week. Probably another 6 or so of those I could add, but meh. Too lazy to fix that right now and upload a fixed version of the worksheet.

The True Endgame

It's always fun to show Fenrir tapping into what he used to be like, albeit he's still more toned down now than he used to be before the story's events. For the next chapter, I think I'll focus on one of the waifus, but which one? Nell and Saya have gotten plenty of time this volume, so I think it's time to give somebody else some attention. Maybe Mr. Smiles? Or perhaps Eva will make her return now. Yeah, I'll probably go with that. So, Eva chapter next chapter!

Ero Dungeon Online

Ain't it weird to actually have a dungeon-focused chapter in a story that has dungeon in the name? Shocking, right? Though, I'm not sure if it will still count as a dungeon for long. Well, other than technically being a dungeon. Damian might have to build some proper sex dungeon rooms on a lower floor in the dungeon if he still wants to feel like it deserves to be called a dungeon.

Lazy Dragon Queen

I'm going to be disappointed if people don't get the Mr. Bones' Wild Ride reference, but that's just a risk I've got to take for the sake of referencing old memes that most kids these days have probably never even heard of. Wow, I could not have sounded more like a boomer with that. I'm only 27 but feel like an old man. Well, considering that I've spent more than half of my life with the internet at this point, I basically am an old man when it comes to internet culture. Back in my day, kids played with their neopets, coolmathgames, and albinoblacksheep! Anyways, I've been looking forward to referencing this for a while, and I had a lot of fun playing around with it.

The Dungeon Hound

TDH has significantly underperformed even with my low expectations for its success, which is a major oof, but I'm still happy with it. And unlike before, where I planned on TQH being a series that would probably be like 20 volumes long, I'm only planning on this one being like... 4-6 volumes long? And the first volume is already almost over. So, even if it's underperforming, I'm still going to see it through this time. Plus I'm having a lot of fun with it, especially with making Elanah mega thirsty.

Though, I think the current cover would probably be best for like... a volume 2 cover. Zurie ended up being even less significant in this first volume than I thought she'd be. So, when it comes for self-publishing, the first volume will probably use a cover that's just Woofen and Elanah, then I'll use the current cover for the second volume.

The Tentacles Tavern'

TTT has also underperformed in terms of readers, but it's got good overall ratings and I'm still happy with it. I'm going to dump some more free chapters for it to RR/SH over the weekend to see if that helps to give it a boost at all. Plus it'll get people closer to when I can start going, "Hey, Patreon has the uncensored image > : ^ )." We'll see how successful that strategy works. As long as I can make at least another $250 a month from TTT, I'll continue commissioning more lewds to go with the chapters. Worst case scenario, I don't make that much, but I'll still be writing the story! 

In Closing

Thank you all for your continued support! Just to repeat what I think I said last week, no more week-long interruptions to focus on a single story or anything like that. Maybe I'll give myself a week off or something in a couple of months since it's been a while since I've given myself a proper break. I'm trying to give myself 4 weeks of "vacation time" a year, and I think I've already used one of those, then I'll be using another one for Christmas, so that gives me two more weeks to take off at some point. But that won't be anytime soon. I've got too much that I want to do and I need to seriously try and improve my earnings on here so that I can save up the money I need for my plans and finally be independent.
