Weekly Update #206

So, not much to say this week aside from that I talked to one of my artist friends about life and motivation and scheduling and stuff, so I've decided that I'm going to take a page from their book to try it out myself. What they do is basically draw (their work) for two days a week, then they study programming and music on their own days, so each day is dedicated to a specific field so that he can make progress toward making his own solo game. And I want to try that form of schedule. I have a lot of other things I want to do (which my writing will work into, of course), but most of those plans are secret since I don't want to build hype or anything way too soon for projects that may never come to fruition.

But yeah. Starting today, I'm going to try making Monday and Tuesday into my "main" writing days. Today, I'll write DE and EDO. Tomorrow, I'll write LDQ and TTE. I'm still only going to post one story a day Monday - Thursday, but I'm going to try and have everything completed for the week by the end of tomorrow. Then I'll dedicate Wednesday to... let's say "new" writing. Writing for stories that I haven't actually posted or anything. As for Thursday and Friday, I'll probably do a bit more writing on those days if I feel like it, but the main thing they're dedicated to will be classified for at least these first couple of months.

And on the note of writing other stories, I've been a lot happier with writing in general lately now that I've worked on random passion projects in private. Since I'm not caring about what's going to be more popular at all anymore, I'm just having fun writing at my own pace on new stories without any external pressure. No pressure of having to write it for a web serial schedule, no pressure from being influenced by what will make me more money, etc. Just chilling at my own pace writing random stuff that may or may not ever get released. Preferably, though, it would be released.

I've started... four new series since I made that big weekly update a few weeks ago? I haven't made much progress on any one of them in particular, but I'm happy with how they've all been going. The latest one I've started is what I'm particularly interested in right now since I think I've got a lot of good ideas for it, plus it's challenging in a way that like...

Well, let me just put it this way.

Have you ever heard of or played Mega Man Battle Network? I absolutely loved that series of games as a kid. So anyways, I've started writing Mega Man Battle Network but original and more mature. Keeping things serious and mature while also embracing the campiness of the original is pretty challenging, but in a fun way. I just have to keep reminding myself that more explanations of how things work is bad for a story like this, instead embracing the campiness and absurdity of it.

Anyways, I've been going through a huge Mega Man Battle Network craze now that nostalgia from childhood hit me. I've been watching so many videos and listening to so much music of it this past week. And of course, in the middle of this, one of my favorite musicians on YouTube released a remix of a song from it, so I'll just link to that and then move on with the rest of the update: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PN9PJ9IB_M4

The True Endgame

"Family" reunion time?

Thinking of that, I realized I want to try and show some of the other girls' families, too. Especially Cassiel. We've seen a parent from both Serra and Nell, but haven't seen any from the other girls. Seeing as how Cassiel is the one with the most parental baggage, I think it'd be fun to show some of that sometime. Probably not anytime soon, though. I don't think I'll have time for a slice of life arc like that for... maybe another whole volume? But yeah, definitely something I want to do in the future.

I also want to write a Rao x Maid Harem spinoff volume sometime. Just go full dense harem shenanigans with it full of misunderstandings and learning what it means to be a proper harem protagonist. Of course, even if that happens, it would still have better conflict resolution and more relationship progress than basically 99% of other anime/manga harems.

Ero Dungeon Online

And now it's time to fuck a futa, I think. Never wrote man on futa before. Unlike with the dragon, I'm pretty sure I'll be able to manage writing this even if it's going to have some bi action in it. Does it count as bi, even? Does giving a futa a reacharound while fucking her count as bi? Is fuckin a futa even considered bisexual in the first place if you're a guy? I don't know, but Damian is bisexual, so he doesn't care. If there's a dick connected to the girl he's fucking, he's going to make use of it.

Lazy Dragon Queen

So, I'm making more money from LDQ on Amazon than I realized. The default reports thing on Amazon showed me I was only making like $100 a month the last few months from the first two volumes of LDQ... but it wasn't counting the income earned from KU, so that's actually about $400 once you count KU page reads as well.

And this, children, is why so many of us authors bow down to Amazon's monopoly. Being enrolled in KU just straight up increases your total profit by anywhere from 150% to 300% most of the time. I maintain that I have artistic integrity when it comes to my writing itself, but beyond that? When it comes to actually posting the story and making money? I leave my integrity to the writing itself. Everything beyond the actual writing is business time.

Also, this next chapter will likely have some pretty lewd implications. Huehehe. Honestly, they might even be too lewd, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to resist writing what I have in mind.

Dominion Expansion

Hm. DE is reaching a point where I'm probably going to have to start introducing some bigger time skips to keep things interesting. It's not supposed to be a casual slice of life series, but the nature of it also kind of prevents proper adventuring from happening, so it's very much a reactive sort of story. Things happen and they need reacted to and dealt with, since that's typically how 4X games go.

So, I'm probably going to have some more and bigger time skips coming up here just to try and keep things interesting, since most "days" are just more of the same, really.

In  Closing

That's all for now! Thanks for taking the time to read all of this if you did, and I hope that you had a great weekend! And I hope that this week turns out well for you, too.

Thanks for supporting me once again, and please look forward to this week's chapters!
