Weekly Update #212

My mum got diagnosed with Covid... and that was after I was taking care of her while she was sick with a fever because the home test told her that she didn't have Covid. So, I've felt pretty shit all week and haven't been able to focus on writing. Mainly just all-day headaches and my head feeling fuzzy in general.
I just have to hope that this is actually Covid I have right now and that it won't hit me later. The doctor said the particular strand going around down here isn't that dangerous, but is extremely contagious and has a two week incubation period, so people don't show symptoms until they've had it for two weeks. But there's also a general agreement that somebody isn't contagious until they have a fever. So, if what I have isn't Covid, and my mum wasn't contagious until she had a fever and I got it from her rather than us both getting it from some other place, then that means I've got about a week and a half or so still until I actually get hit by it.
And despite the doctor telling my mum that this strand of Covid isn't going into lungs, my mum has still been coughing, and that's got me worried since, you know, I'm overweight with asthma and a history of pneumonia with no healthcare. Then there's the fact that my dad died from Covid. So between all of that, it's kind of impossible for me to not worry even though I know I'll probably be fine.
But yeah. Hopefully my head gets better over the weekend and I can go back to posting chapters next week. Writing through most pain and discomfort is easy enough, but not when the pain and discomfort is in the place that comes up with the words to write down.
