Weekly Update #187

(I started typing this 12 hours ago then got distracted, woops)

You know, this week was going really well. I've been waking up every morning at 6 on the dot to go walk my dog, I finished reading a book and started another, I got all my chapters done on time, I got a good chunk of LDQ's editing done, I managed to more or less figure out how exactly I want to rewrite TTT, and so on. Then we got billed, and are apparently going to continue getting billed, $1,000 a week due to the nursing home not getting my grandma's medicaid application approved in time despite them guaranteeing that it would get done, and we missed a call from them basically telling us "we need to talk," which is almost always bad news, and they weren't available once we called them back and have to wait until tomorrow before we can figure out what's going on.

Oh, and the air conditioning broke. And it's going to be 85 degrees today, which means it'll get up to in the low 90s inside. And it won't be getting fixed until tomorrow morning. But if I try to look for the silver lining in this, then the good news is that I've already been more or less desensitized to hot temperatures due to... well, one, being in Florida, and two, playing games in a closed room that makes my computer generate a fuck ton of heat, so my room usually goes up to 85 - 90 degrees when gaming anyways.

If for whatever reason my grandma isn't able to stay in the nursing home, then we just can't take care of her here anymore. We're going to have to fly up to PA and literally drop her off at my (much wealthier) grandparents' doorsteps and tell them that she's their problem now. We don't have the money nor ability to continue being her caretaker, especially since she's still rapidly deteriorating and becoming harder and harder to care for.

Anyways, onto the rest of things!

33 hours, 21, 994 words. Good enough start to the year!

The True Endgame

Always nice to have these chapters with Saya or Kadi that are more focused on philosophical things and deeper meaning things and all that jazz. I don't know, I'm tired and took way too long to type this so now my brain isn't really working. Either way, very happy. Next chapter, back in-game.

Ero Dungeon Online

Drama, woo! I've had an idea for a little mini-arc like this since I started writing the first volume but never really had a good opportunity to work it in. Now that there's a bit of a downtime for the story in regard to plot and all that stuff, I figured it would be a good time to finally throw it in.

Lazy Dragon Queen

I wanted to give Chloe a bit more characterization with this latest chapter and, personally, I'm happy with how it turned out. She's cute and fluffy (for a human), but also knows what she wants and knows how to defend herself!

Oh, and I also got a good amount of editing for the story done. It should potentially be done with editing by the end of this new week! If not by the end of this week, then definitely during next week!

Dominion Expansion

Just because a dog girl acts simple and is pretty focused on only ever getting one thing doesn't mean that she doesn't also think about the meaning of life and what people should do to live it to its fullest!

The Tentacles' Tavern

I've more or less gotten my plan figured out for how I want to rewrite the story. Or well, edit it. I'm probably going to have to make a lot more minor changes than I thought I would, which is going to be a bit annoying and I'll have to be careful not to accidentally miss any, but I think I've got this. I'm going to begin the actual editing/rewriting part this week now that I've got my plan for it figured out.

Reading Report

I would type more, but I'm tired, and absolutely too tired to talk about philosophy. Anyways, I read The Myth of Sisyphus by Albert Camus. Now I'm working on An Archdemon's Dilemma: How To Love Your Elf Bride.

In Closing

I will admit that I didn't stick super faithfully to my new schedule this past week. After I finished reading a book, I took a couple of days before starting a new one, and I just relaxed after making sure that my chapters were published for the day (after figuring out my plan for TTT). I might be giving myself an extreme schedule, but I'm easing into it a bit, and it'll be easier now that I'm actually falling asleep late. I kept on falling asleep at like... 4pm - 6pm last week instead of being able to stay up since my body wasn't used to it. But now, I'm going to sleep at about 11pm (aka after I post this) every night and waking up at 6am on the dot every morning. Getting my sleep schedule set was the hardest part of last week.

But now that it's set, I can start to fill out all of my awake time with the rest of my planned schedule!

So with that, I thank you all for your continued support, hope that you look forward to this week's chapters which will be releasing at the scheduled times again, and I hope that you all have a great week and working air conditioners!
