Location: Cities and Towns Throughout the Dominican Republic
Event: Presidential and Congressional Elections 2024
The Dominican Republic will hold presidential and congressional elections on Sunday, May 19, 2024. This could result in large crowds and/or protests, particularly near voting locations, and may disrupt traffic.
· Campaign closing caravans and demonstrations may continue until midnight on Thursday, May 16.
· The sale of alcoholic beverages is prohibited 24 hours before voting, from 7:00 a.m. May 18th until 5:00 a.m. May 20th. Hotels in tourist areas are exempt.
· Electoral sites will be open for voting on Sunday May 19th from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

· Avoid crowds and demonstrations.

· Have travel documents up-to-date and easily accessible.
