CES 2025 (w/ ad-free video)

Holy cow. What a week.

I have been to CES seven times, but doing it alone was a new beast. From networking to attempting to find video-worthy gadgets on the show floor to staying hydrated and actually eating full meals, CES completely depleted my battery. But it was worth every second.

I decided to keep my gear minimal, bringing only an Osmo Pocket 3 and the DJI Mic Minis. To my surprise, I have zero regrets about this. The only problems were battery life and card space. I was ripping through micro SD cards, and even with the battery grip, there was no juice left by the end of the day. Next year I can't forget my external battery!

My biggest struggles, besides drinking enough water, were planning my day when everything I wanted to see was so spread out and keeping my feet from screaming. I wore my Adidas Retropy E5s, which typically feel like walking on clouds, but even in those, my heels hurting by the end of the day. And because it ended up taking me longer to get from place to place than I expected, I had to stay in Vegas an extra day in order to see it all.

Ok, but now onto the tech.
Here are links to everything I mentioned in the video:

The Tinco section was sponsored, but I left it in the ad-free version of this video because I actually really enjoyed using the products. I will 100% be getting one of the steaming vacuums when they launch.

But I tested two products that didn't make the video!

One was a pair of Chamelo glasses that let you change the tint strength. It's a great idea, and it all worked very well in my 30 minutes of testing. However, the glasses retail for over $200 and didn't feel much more premium than my $7 Walmart sunglasses. Again, I only used them for 30 minutes in a dimly lit hotel room, so don't take any of this as a full review.

These Chamelo glasses let you change the tint strength.

The other product I played with that didn't make the final cut was LG's Signature Over-the-Range Microwave, which sports a 27-inch LCD touchscreen, four cameras, and speakers. I can understand wanting a camera in the oven or microwave to monitor food as it cooks, but the fact that it can also instantly share all of that content with the internet feels a step too far. Plus, the door on the microwave is incredibly thick, and you can only see through it via cameras. But what makes me the most sad is that I can't imagine any part of this device is easily repairable.

Look how thick this microwave's door is!

Were any of you at CES? Even if you weren't, I would love to know what you heard about and loved! Ok, I'm going to go sleep for a few days and hope that I don't get sick from touching a million germy surfaces.

Appreciate you, as always! -Becca

can you imagine!!

I use that for my more traditional cameras, so it lives on my backpack. But! I have been looking into getting an L-bracket for the bottom of Osmo that would allow me to put a peak design plate on the side rather than the bottom. Let me know if you see anything! I was thinking of trying something as simple as this: https://www.amazon.com/LuckIn-20-Pack-Brackets-Furniture-Stainless/dp/B0BRXPLQ4C/ref=sr_1_3_sspa?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.sy_jnSMK6REeIR3h_S9-CR3PfOwjmgog0PqYDs7lItsbbpCwL5VqrqIUuX6RPirFZXzVQMPs7OgSmK_WTwVwSENyg7jnKzDF6uxvtpQL2f04QG76rejZ6TjMSVJ_GDao_rWpQ6BvWzVUAzdf88WgcEIM_IgODMc2et-297kYGef5mGMn7N08NhFCf4wm2yNh4rpKiotjjD736KQI_fleEgwWEBY1hQDE9HLO93qZhOQ5_BSU8HwSjK80Agn-2z-_ZKWdfo5ObQkxrqEV23hIn7Cl7ygZD9Dpuy3KzH8luhg.3hjKiy_9_QCdny1RVyensqjfjzFnshyophGJBKNzjkI&dib_tag=se&keywords=l+bracket+small&qid=1736780562&sr=8-3-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1

Becca, I see you wearing Peak Design’s Clip on your backpack strap but only using DJI Osmo 3. Are those 2 compatible or was the Clip there for something else. Thanks in advance!

Where did they get the water? Well, bucket by bucket ;-)
