Happy Valentine's Day! This morning, I asked Hannah if she would be my Valentine and got a yes 😎, so I'm feeling pretty good as I head to the Tucson Gem and Mineral Festival today.

Ok, I promise that is all the Valentine's stuff. Now, onto everything I watched, read, and listened to this week.

What I read this week:

While researching my Bee AI pin video, I read many reviews of other AI devices. Davids's review of Plaud's pin was one of my favorites--utterly conversational and incredibly spot on. There are days I really miss being in close proximity to tech reviewers as practiced as he is.

The Lesser-Known History of African-American Cowboys
This is a bit outside my typical reading, but I can explain! Cowboy culture, or at least its aesthetic, is everywhere and has fascinated me lately. But this piece is especially interesting, and the documentary linked in the article is great, too.

What I watched this week:

Watch DOECHII perform "CATFISH" & "DENIAL IS A RIVER" live at the 2025 GRAMMYs
It took the Grammys long enough, but the performances from that night are finally starting to be uploaded to YouTube. This one is particularly good!

This is a great video, but you already know that about 30 seconds into it, I went right to the site in question and looked for places I knew.

Iraq War Veterans, 20 Years Later: ‘I Don’t Know How to Explain the War to Myself’ | Op-Docs
I had seen this before, but it popped back up on my homepage this week, and I was reminded about just how damn good it is. It's not shot on fancy cameras, nor has any budget; it's just a really sad, emotional story and a good reminder that war serves no one.

I’m Cycling The World
Bernardo is one of my top ten favorite YouTubers, and I am so excited to follow his journey. Also, when I saw that he had responded to my comment, I almost fell out of my chair. Shook!

What I listened to this week:

Holy cow, I can't stop listening to FKJ. His 22_23 Live Sessions album is particularly good, but I've also had Sundays - Just Piano Version and Way Out on repeat. And per my sister's recommendation, I dove into Jack White's No Name album on the plane to Arizona.
