Adventures at Winn-Dixie

Here you go!

Enjoy the good ol' days of Book 1. And "wardrobe malfunctions." Yeah, that's the ticket.

We had fun with this picture too. You remember grocery stores back in the day, right? Mine didn't have cashiers like Stacy, much less shoppers like Susan. Too bad, right?

Collectors, grab the HQ version with the link below.

Nerd that I am, I love the 1st generation Chevy LUV in the Winn-Dixie parking lot. Oh, and also boobs. ;-)

? What don't you like in Chapter Two...?

Love the illustration, Nick! Also, love Stacey as a character. She overcame so much through hard work and determination. With some gentle help and guidance, she carved out what seems to be a nice life for herself. Kudos! Though I do respect Neale S. having a different opinion, as there are other characters that I am trying to warm up to who the universe would probably say that I am crazy for not loving.

Well...as an earlier reply said YMMV. And it's an opinion that I can't explain...I just look at it like it, yeah, ok...and move right along. Though it has stopped me revisiting Chapter Two many times!

That actually causes problems, since the early books have characters under 18. It's a legacy of the "wonderful" Moral Majority and America's general puritanical political climate. So I stick to text-only books, just to avoid the worst of the self-righteous crusader dipshit moral high horse fuckwits.

Well, that's the beauty of my stories (if I do say so myself): all my characters are different and as true-to-life as I can make them. So it's okay to like some and not like others. Different strokes, ya know?

Your books should have these illustrations

I loved Stacy! And agree with Steve's opinion, contrarian though it may be. ;)

I've to to offer a contrarian opinion to that: Stacy is a memorable and enjoyable character - and important to the story too, as an instructress and example to Paul and, as I see it anyway, as one of the things that brought Susan back to Beth and David. YMMV as always, of course. ;-)

Never really got to like Stacy. Of all the characters up till then, she was my least liked character.
