Sara's Photo Session

Sara and Paul have had a wild ride, haven't they? From enemies to frenemies to friends. And I can see them being friends the rest of their lives. (Of course, I'll have to read to find out.)

This illustration has an anachronism, which is unusual for Tzratzk. The chapter it's from (B4-Ch19) is set in 1983, but I forgot to tell him about the year. Consequently, Sara's camera is a thoroughly modern DSLR, and you can see her looking at the back to check the picture she just shot.

In a more realistic scene, Sara would be shooting with a medium-format camera like a Hasselblad or Mamiya. Those cost a small fortune, but the results were usually worth it.

Anyway, that's a fun little tidbit about today's illo. Collectors, be sure to download the HQ version.

Probably the former, but not the latter. Sara doesn't have any interest in a man between her legs, whether it's his face or anything else.

Looks like Sara will eventually have a chance to get Christy to bed with the blessings of Paul. And for being grateful to Paul she will be happy to at least have Paul's face between her legs.

Uh... Don't know what you're talking about. I spelled it right. See? It's right up there in black and white. Nope, no typos there. Move along, folks, nothing to see. (LOL! You're totally right. I spelled it wrong. Thanks for correcting me. I edited the post to fix it. Good catch.)

Thinking back to my first camera, a compact Mamiya, are you sure Mimiya is the correct name? Sorry for nitpicking, thanks for the wonderful epos.

Well, Tzratzk is a great artist, but he isn't a photographer. So I'm willing to give him a pass on most of the details in this one. (And you're right, the lighting is completely weird, but I also know a bit about why. I sent him a background example pic, and he more or less copied it and superimposed the characters in front of it. So I recognize all the pieces-parts that went into creating this illustration. Still, boobies. Ya know?)

The lighting is off too. The beauty dish wouldn’t be in there at that angle, if used at all. I’d have it more behind Paul and daphne to rim light them, maybe. Personally I’d use two strip boxes on either side of them for side lighting and a third spot for the backdrops even lighting the backdrop at all. Depends on the mood I want to portray. But I don’t shoot stuff like this so my tastes are different.
