This scene takes place entirely offstage from the main story.
Trip mentions it briefly in B5-Ch9. He and Wren got together with Mark and Leah while they were in Atlanta for Thanksgiving. (Forgive the lush summer foliage in the background... I forgot to tell Tzratzk what season it was.)
Summer Camp is a living universe, so to speak. Things happen in the background and offstage, and Paul might not know about them at the time, if ever. Not unless someone tells him.
That's also why Books 3-5 were/are much more difficult to write than the first two. I have to track and account for a lot more characters doing things in their own lives while Paul is living his. You don't see many of them, but some come and go from the main story on a semi-regular basis.
I enjoy writing all the characters and events, but it's a lot of work sometimes, and my head can be a crowded place!
I have plans to write stories about some of the things that only exist in my outline for continuity, but not until I finish Book 5. For now, you'll have to settle for the ones I add as bonus Illustrations.
But...! That's just another bonus you get because you're a patron. I don't plan to post these illustrations for the free readers when I eventually publish the story itself. That's too bad, too, since they'll never know what they're missing.
What can I say? Membership has its privileges. So enjoy!
