Added 2024-02-09 14:00:14 +0000 UTCAhoy friends! Welp, if sailing was easy, then everyone would do it right??? We had just arrived to the Marquesas Islands after one of our toughest and most mentally draining passages we've had in quite some time. We were so stoked to make landfall, only to find that our anchorage wasn't all that much better than being out at sea 🙈 We moved spots, but still...THE ROLLS...After about a week of no good sleep, having to hold on while using the toilet, having your breakfast sliding around the table, we had kinda hit our limit. We were just so tired and so over it, and we had kinda slipped into a funk. I'm sure you all can relate to that...it's like you have a certain amount of reserves that you can use to cope with uncomfortable or challenging situations, and once you cross that line, the smallest things seem HUGE, and life can just feel really hard. We did finally bust out our new rocker stoppers that some friends gave us, which did help A LOT. Plus, we had the arrival of a very special visitor to brighten up our spirits...The one, the only...Mormor! (We know there are a lot of Mormor fans in here that are gonna be almost as excited as we were!) This totally turned things around for us. Sierra was especially elated, and it was so special to see the incredible bond they have. She changed so much since we last saw her in Sweden around Christmas/new years the year before. We had such a great time together. And it's also nice for Me and Kazz to be able to have a bit more "adult time" while Sierra and Mormor spend time together...to catch up on work, fix up delos, sleep in from time to time. It's the little things you know :). Anywhooo, hope everyone has a lovely weekend, and leave some love for Mormor in the comments and we will pass it along to her so she knows how missed she is already!

I spent my summers at our grandparents' lake house with 2 older siblings. When our grandparents retired, we had them with us too. What we did at our young ages on the water and in boats, I don't know how the adults 'allowed' it. Our grandparents were a BIG part of our lives growing up. I have had many loses (family members) since those times and all are missed but, it is MY turn to create memories with MY grandchildren. I was blessed to spend 4 months with them at our FL home last summer. Such good times. We get to video every week. I would go to them (as I did in the past) but, I am medically unable to. Thankful for videos. NOTE: I also 'live' thru your videos! XO

2024-02-09 16:10:44 +0000 UTCIt's always a treat to see Mormor. Especially seeing her get to spend time with Sierra. I saw a po-boy in the beginning of the episode. It's probably not called that in the Marquesas. In our Vietnamese restaurants it's called a bahn mi. Then, near the end, I saw a loaf of French bread. Ironically, the best French bread in New Orleans comes from a German bakery, Leidenheimer's. When I was living in Lafayette, La. I passed a Cajun grocery that made French bread. When the red light was flashing on their sign in their parking lot, hot French bread was coming out of the oven. By the time I got home I was lucky if half a loaf was left. Mardi Gras is next week in New Orleans. For most of the rest of the world it's just another Tuesday.
