PATREON ONLY: This Stack of Metal Will Become OUR BOAT!

Happy Friday everyone! This week there will not be a new episode as there has been sooo much going on lately both with work and with fun! Feels great but a breather is definitely in order. BUT we wanted to pop in and say hello, and also share this video that Dan sent us from Australia. All the aluminum for the hull has arrived, SOOOO freaking exciting!!! (This is just a portion of it that they filmed, there is a lot more than this!). Can't believe things are starting to get underway, and the dream is slowly becoming a reality...and it's all thanks to you guys! Thank you so much to each and every single one of you. And drop us a little comment with what you're up to for the weekend just cuz :)

Love and hugs from paradise!

Brian, Kazza, & Sierra

I am so happy for you. What a wonderful boat you are building. We are so anxious to see you on it.

Gary

Very cool that they made the video for you and your viewers.

Lance Daniels

So excited for you OGs from Shilshole Bay Marina (and Sweden 😉) you are going to love all of the adventures building and sailing your new catamaran will bring!! 💜

Jason and Dianna Budgeon

So dumb question, how much will this boat end up costing?

Matt Wiseman

Was gunna say that doesn't look like enough for an uber catamaran. Just chocolate eggs and Sunday BBQ lunch.

SV Sirene Spirit

I'm so excited and it's not even my boat! Lol 😆 can't wait for it to be finished (but I'll be patient too) and to see you all taking her out for the first time. So happy for you all and the amazing new memories this will afford you.

SirPGA

I can picture yall sailing around the world 🌎 all settled into this beauty all ready 🥰❤️❤️❤️

George Deehan

Hey Everyone…I’m Gary from Michigan. I’m living vicariously through your videos. The weather currently isn’t very good here but I am waiting on spring to do some serious fishing. I love the water probably from growing up and living next to the Great Lakes..Have a great weekend, everyone!

Gary D

Im excited to watch the build and hope you’ll share as much of it as you can!

Peter Larson

You are embarking on perhaps your greatest adventure yet, here. (Well except for parenting while at sea, of course!). What a complex and intricate undertaking. So very courageous. Wishing you all the best, and very happy to play a small part in your amazing journey. Cheers!

David Cooper

Happy „Spring Brake“ 🤪 What an endeavour. Looking forward to the upcoming period of your lifes. Sierra is such a lucky child to be born in this family 🕉️☮️🕉️🕉️☮️🕉️

So precisely cut, this is going to be fun watching this happen in my hood. #FlashyTinny! ❤️✅

Wayne McClennan

Enjoying my retirement on Faial in the Azores, working on my next boat, a 12 foot trimaran for sailing around Horta harbor. Maybe you guys will make it back here someday on Delos 2.0!

Mark Gumprecht

I'm so excited for this new chapter!!!

Michael Ballog

You guys remaking Kevin Costner’s trimaran from Waterworld?! That would be SWEET!!! 😂😂😂

jr104494 .

Love this. My dad was a fabricator and this reminds me of him. Looking forward to tagging along your journey…

Abel Serrano

Looks way too flat! Reminds me of the balsa wood airplanes in the 1950-60's we kids all got that came in flat rectangles with pre-cut parts ...... it came in a bag. Keep 'em flyin

Bonne Mike

Right on! It looks like some rib pieces and some sheet skins. So happy! Thank You!

Thomas Lengel

Uber cool! We may be in Brisbane in late May. Would love to come take a peak and meet the fam if the timing is right.

Atencio's

Excellent looking forward to seeing Delos 2 come alive 👍

Gary Suffern

Looks great. Can’t wait for the live cam. Happy Easter

William Stanton

Rainy weekend here in Atlantic Canada. Looking forward to warmer weather. Exciting to see the start of Delos 2.0!

Mark Desborough

Weather here in south east Qld, Australia this weekend is like 30⁰c maximum and sunny so a great weekend to get work done too. First weekend like that in a while here. To bad work cant start immediately.

Mike Green

Yeah!!! Now we're talking :)

Sailing SV Delos

Hey Spencer- Yeah buddy it is definitely a fascinating process. I have learned so incredibly much these last few months! Sounds like a pretty cool gig you had. Cheers- Brian

don't forget to have enough metal for Maggie's garage and workshop

Norm

As far as this weekend goes, it's almost back to winter here. 37 degrees F right now with a nice breeze. Def chilly. It's almost time to go for the daily hike with my doggy pal Sparky. I'll likely see at least one of the local bald eagles and perhaps some deer. A few days ago I saw a coyote and a couple weeks ago (on a Friday hike) I saw a fox - which my dog was chasing. No worries, the fox got away. : - )

Scott C. Wise

Exciting to see the materials show up. We will be taking advantage of the high sitting over the Marquesas as move from Nuku Hiva to Hiva Oa. 100% motor, but no beating on these calm seas.

Tim S

Gee, I was waiting for an SV Delos Friday episode, but you let me down. So, why did you build me up, . . . just to let me down? Hey, hey, hey! "We'll have an episode out by ten, " you've told us time and again, but not on this date. I guess we'll just have to wait, . . . but, remember, we love you still, . . . ( Anyone else hear the song in the background? LOL https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSofzQURQDk&ab_channel=TheFoundations : - ) )

Scott C. Wise

Wow, this makes it look drilling down to the beginning. I guess the only thing you're not doing is mining the ore and smelting the metal! Just fascinating, thanks! Best wishes!

Michael Williams

Fabulous! enjoy this week’s break and revel in your birthday afterglow. My weekend will be low key. I live a quiet retired life as a snow bird in South Florida. The weather has been wonderful so I’m out enjoying everything that has to offer. Cheers!

Myra Slepoy

So glad to see that you've got a lot of people helping you. I was a bit scared when you said that it was going to be just you and Kaza. So I'm looking to get a new boat for the first time years, just a small little "stink pot" a pilot house Shamrock to jet around the harbor and go to Catalina once in a while. Have you found a place to stay in Australia with a spare bedroom for Momar? Hopefully she'll be on board and will take care of the little nugs and helping you organize the new boat too.

Mike TopCat

It's Easter weekend here, so it will be spent with family! Very exciting to see the hull is officially underway!

Stephanie Rollins

Awesome! Plans for the weekend: Cleaning our sloop and test engine for the season!

Robin Evers

So cool. Don’t lose the assembly instructions. 😜😬.

Dan Moss

Wow, what a marriage of technology and the tradition of lofting a hull. The plans scaled up by computer and instead of marks on the loft floor a computer draws the whole thing out with a water jet cutter. I loved how the parts were left connected by little tabs to make materials handling easier. Years ago I worked at a water jet company that made water jet orifice using lasers cutting holes in diamonds and the (I think it was) 80,000 psi of water pressure pumps. I wrote the operations manuals. This is going to be very interesting to follow. Thanks for bringing us along on the process journey.

Spencer Norby

Already looks impressive🙏❤️safe sails

finn b hansen

Awesome stack of parts. Chilling in AZ - more rain expected on Sunday. Guess I'll work on taxes 🤑

Gravytrain

Wow, it is happening, super exciting 😃

Alan Gore

Yay! Timelapse! Y'all just said you're gonna build a new boat, do it in australia, and bam! Materials arriving already! Holy cow that's fast. I'm dancing for you guys. No one's watching, so it's a good n goofy dance.

Erik Adler

This is very exciting. I like Dan the builder.... Can't wait to see the build in progress... This weekend, skiing at Palisades in Tahoe. Fresh Snow on the ground and new snow falling. 30 inches expected by Sunday. Happy Easter!

Bill Parker

Chilly with rain Saturday and Sunday so Easter with family and watching the March Madness Cheers! Sunny to day so glof after work!

SV Trippin'

Cool puzzle!

david marentette

Love reading and seeing your lives! I enjoy watching as I am no longer able to 'do', just watch. Time flies so enjoy every minute!

Margie VV

So exciting! This is going to one boat build that I will be glued to! Spending my day doing some repairs on our RV water heater. Sold it and it's getting picked up next Saturday. Then, we are on the hunt for bigger and more beautiful!

Nancy D

At the moment I'm dreaming of your reality. Wishing you fair winds on this project.

Bart Wesp

So how much is it all going to come down to Brian in the cost of it all out of curiosity. Is it cheaper to build your own custom model. If so could always make a base version that you could make custom easy to do projects yourself later to cut costs and labor.

William Brandon Kahler

Learning to weld and helping out on another project is one thing. When the pallets arrive with the material for YOUR project, the feeling turns electric! Remember to schedule beach strolls to collect your thoughts and recharge in the negative ions for the day ahead... the excitement can burn you out!

William Flower

Things are happening! Good things. Yay! Congrats!

Bill Dapp

Shiny!!!

Shannon Stone

It’s really happening! It’s so awesome to see all of the planning and decisions materialize into something tangible. Actual pieces of Delos 2.0 exist now and it will continue to take form and pick up momentum. Let’s F’ing Gooo!

Joseph Buonodono

Enjoy!!

Chris and Claudia Stothard

Some assembly required. Batteries not included. Small parts dangerous if swallowed. 😂 IKEA makes boats?

Robert Giroux and Cindy Xu

Awesome, It's like unpacking a big model boat set! Spring powder days and daughter's soccer game on tap 🍻

Aaron Bailey

Congratulations! Manifestation in Motion. We're saying hi from Grand Cayman where the wind is wild today, but the snorkeling has been fabulous!

Krystal Couture

The BALL IS ROLLING! It's all downslope and picking up speed from here, until you reach the ocean and launch!

Colleen Balch

Best of luck! Very exciting!
