As good a film as this is, it's one I can't watch often simply because of how bleak the ending is. Great cast, great acting. The upside-down cross gets me because horror films tend to use it for satanic purposes but it's actually a religious symbol, the cross of St. Peter. I loved your suggestion of Ash showing up, that cracked me up. Another great reaction!
