PSA: Changing Tiers

Hello again Blackbirds! 

This is information many of you understand already, especially if you were around last year when tier caps were installed, but it’s worth a refresher now that we’re consistently meeting them. 

The MBPS is capped at 800 members. That is the maximum amount of deliveries I’m capable of fulfilling in a reasonable timespan. Every single delivery is hand-packaged by myself and a handful of assistants, including a wax seal I stamp myself. 800 deliveries is as many as I’m currently capable of doing. 

Over the last year, I was able to fine-tune tier distribution based on how you all naturally arranged yourself. The current proportions of the tiers reflect your demand for certain tiers! They are currently arranged at:

100 Jolly Jackdaws 

300 Crow Collectors

400 Raven Dandies 

✨As our membership levels get consistently near the cap, and some tiers cap out entirely, that means that by nature, slots are scarce. It is not as easy to come and go and change your tiers as it was when slots were plentiful. I apologize that that becomes an obstacle! But it’s just the nature of being part of a club with limited available membership.

✨If you want to change your tier and the tier you desire is full, the only way to do this is to wait until a slot opens up. People drop their memberships and change their tiers nearly every single day, so if you check back once a day, you ought to be able to get into the tier that you want. However, I cannot guarantee it.

✨If you change your tier or drop your membership entirely, your ability to get back in is not guaranteed. We have yet to have all three tiers max out completely (lately 8-12 shy), and members inevitably drop after the first of the month, so opportunities to rejoin are still consistently available — but the MBPS has grown consistently over time, and this may not always be true!

✨It is possible to manually edit your pledge to any dollar amount you prefer, but this is not the same as joining a tier. If you manually change your pledge without joining a tier, you will not receive rewards. 

✨ As we stay near the max, I will continue to be attentive to members who are not paying, whose cards are consistently in decline. If your card declines, Patreon will retry all month long, every day for the first week and then on every friday. All month you have the opportunity for it to run successfully. (If your card doesn’t charge successfully until after the 5th, always let me know so I can include you in deliveries!) But if your card is declined for more than two months in a row, you are in danger of being removed to make space for a paying member in that tier. When I am removing declined members, which I do every 4-6 months or so, I will post about it as well as patreon-messaging individual members at risk prior to removal. This removal will manifest as an email that you’ve been “blocked”, but you will be immediately unblocked so that you have the opportunity to rejoin when you can fix your payment method.
