Patreon Reboot!

Hello, Font here. So, like many other primarily NSFW patreons, we were suspended and giving a first strike pending a review of our page. Patreon support contacted us and informed us that our page had nsfw content uploaded directly to the site, and in addition to that, we couldn't host content that glorified underage content, beastiality, rape, etc.

That is the bit I bristled at. Glorifying is a pretty awful word to use. It would be well within their their right to say they just don't want any content depicting it, but glorifying makes me split hairs. I'd say our adult audience is smart enough to know the difference between a flour-sack shaped cartoon frog waifu and an actual human, but whatever. For that matter, what counts as bestiality? Ponies, who walk and talk? What about Pokemon, which are canonically pretty sentient?

Either way, we have $600 dollars here that is tied up, currently. About 1/3 of our monthly income. So we bend to patreon, unfortunately.

This was kind of jarring, to be honest. Both Idle and mine's creative output is focused solely on the Patreon, with little other income spread. To have it closed, even temporarily, is scary. So we decide to play with patreon, but that would mean restructuring the whole deal with it.

So. Worst news first. The archive is pretty much gutted. Even off-site hosted content doesn't allow any of the above "glorification".

Anything guranteed bad had to be pruned, so that was the majority of the cartoon folders. Anything within the safe folders that was suspect is also gone, too.

In addition, we're cutting out daily content and focusing more on longer-term stuff. This means no more daily pics. Instead, we're pivoting to more larger scale projects, such as prints, backgrounds, and more focus on doujins! $5+ patrons still have access to the sketchagerie of course, but the polls will now allow them to decide details about the bigger projects.

"Idle and Font... This still sucks." Yeah dude!! It does! I'm really angry at them shooting us, our audience, and the entire adult patreon industry in the foot! It's really disgusting, considering how patreon is still taking money from us and others with similar content. If what people draw is morally reprehensible, shouldn't the money they make off it be just as bad?

This is all a very long lead up to say: We have a KO-FI Gold account now, that will feature all the things we just mentioned above...

Plus the full archive. Which will include all of Dendy's Thesis.

We mentioned a while back that we were looking for alternatives to patreon, after all.

Thank you for your patience and continued support. We barely lost anyone in the time we were offline, and that's incredibly humbling.
