Random Updates #34 - Finale

As usual, the video is incoherent and confusing. So instead of watching that cringy mess, you should read this post instead!

Essentially, this is here to conclusively state that I will not be focusing on RPG Maker MV plugins for an indefinite period of time. As much as I would love to simply fade away into nothingness, I can't help but feel like I'm betraying all of my most dedicated supporters without at least saying something.

Originally, I figured I would get back to plugin development once I finished developing a small side project I grew passionate for (Discord Bot Maker); however, as time has gone on, I've begun to care less and less about plugin creation.

As it was (poorly) stated in the video variation of this post, developing RM plugins is a lot more difficult than it may seem at face value. Creating plugins means you have to manage them, create videos, write help/descriptions, give support the users, fix bugs, and even fix compatibility issues (or otherwise face dozens of angry messages). If plugin development was my job that would be one thing, but as a simple hobby it's not something I'm very keen on. Once again, as I stated in the video, I hate to make it about money (especially when talking to the few people that actually provided financial support), but there are so many better creative outlets for programming that not only hold my interest, but provide financial support. In other words, stuff that I can perhaps turn into a real job.

I jokingly mention creating a game development software in the video, but when I really think about it, that would be so much better than what I do now. I get to develop my own system with 100% control over the design. Furthermore, I can still more or less appeal to the fan base I have grown up until this point. Shoot 'Em Up Maker confirmed (kidding, kinda not kidding, oh god what have I done).

I apologize about Skill Tree Maker. That was the result of patron money going to support a poll, and all users voting in the poll to see it happen. However, I cannot finish it. It still needs months of work until it would be complete, and I just do not hold any interest in doing so what-so-ever. It was a project far more ambitious than I could ever imagine. Please forgive me.

If you desire a refund before you leave, as usual just let me know and I'll happy to return your money for the past two months. This mainly goes out to the $20 and $10 patrons that have been with me for a while. Thank you for your huge support, and I am very sorry it has not gone to support the content you desire. ;-;

Finally, let me just say I'm not done with videos. If there's ever a new RPG Maker MV update, I can assure you there will be a video to go along with it. Furthermore, for those that decide to stay with this Patreon for whatever reason, I will begin doing weekly updates on progress on whatever the hell I'm doing again. ;)
