Threadbare Drawing : Mantle

This reference presented a lot of great shapes to work with. Right away I felt a haunting vibe to this pose, so I wanted to play into that. As you can see, I decided to lengthen the drapes so they would drag a little on the floor. I also tilted her head and gaze a bit more downward, into shadow, to push to the ominous mood further.
Beyond that, I edited many of the positive and negative shapes you see. Reality will often present us with odd details which may not read so clearly.
I especially wanted to modify the bunching of fabric around her right (raised) hand, and the furthest point hanging below. I didn't like the blocky shape which appears in the reference.
