A Young Master's Survival Guide: Chapter 1
Added 2025-07-07 11:34:58 +0000 UTCIt’s over.
Somebody, draw the curtains. This is the end of the line for me.
I closed off my senses by covering my head with the pillow, hoping beyond hope that all this would just go away if I tried hard enough to ignore it.
And yet, it was not to be, as my enhanced senses could easily penetrate the feeble material of the pillows.
I may not remember much about what happened, but I am sure about one thing.
I should be dead.
The last thing I remember is the sudden bout of dizziness that took hold of me out of nowhere when I was crossing the road while heading to work. The next thing I knew, I felt like my body was put through an industrial grinder.
I remember the flashes of images that I saw as I lay on the road in pain.
The grill of a Truck painted red with blood. The screaming and shouting in the surroundings. The blurry image as I slowly lost my consciousness.
It did not take a genius to realize what had happened.
I died in a road accident.
And then, I suddenly woke up here, in this body.
I don’t know how long I have spent like this, staring out blankly into the endless expanse of trees that surrounded the house I was in, refusing to acknowledge the burst of memories that belonged to the pitiful existence that was the original owner of this body.
Mainly because of how similar his life was to my own, based on what little remains of his memories.
Shunned because you can’t do what your family expects of you. Called a useless person who should never have been born. Calling names and jabbing at our weak points simply because we are different from the norm, creating an inferiority complex within us that leads to the destruction of our lives.
Then again, I guess I had it a bit better compared to this boy since I did not live in a fucking death world where people can kill me without any consequences if they are influential enough or strong enough.
Granted, Earth had its own share of such unchecked power, but I was far too beneath the notice of such people, so I was able to lead a relatively safe life, unlike this boy, who was unfortunate enough to be born in a high-profile family, hence attracted more aggro as a result, even if most of those insults and aggression was justified and deserved on the boy’s part.
Not to mention that I did find people in my life who helped me through such dark times and helped me get back up from the pit I found myself in, while this boy had no one like that, which only exacerbated the issues he had.
I shook my head to get rid of those thoughts and suppress those memories for the sake of my sanity.
Seriously, someone kill me now. I don’t want to deal with this situation. Oblivion would be a kinder fate than this situation.
I don’t want to live in this kind of fantasy world.
[System protocol prohibits any harm to the user by the System. Unable to comply with the command]
And then there is this thing that I can’t make heads or tails of.
[Unknown Command]
………..Whatever. just leave me be.
Instantly, the blue window disappeared from my view. At least, this thing is good at following my commands, whatever it is.
(And no, there is no way I am going to even entertain the thought that this is the same kind of situation as those novels I used to read, despite all the signs pointing that way)
As I continued watching the walls around me blankly, I heard the background noise around me suddenly go silent, followed by a strange sensation.
“…Fuck this. I am going to sleep. If something wants to kill me, kill me now.”
I lay down directly on the very comfortable bed and closed my eyes, escaping the craziness of this world and my new existence.
Maybe I’ll be able to tackle this issue with a fresh mind after getting some sleep. Or, I’ll get lucky and realize that all of this is just a dream, a scenario cooked up by my brain?
Whatever the case may be, I am going to sleep and deny this bullshit with all my power.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
8 hours later
I stared blankly at the screen that appeared immediately after waking up to the same surroundings as when I fell asleep.
[Sleep Cycle Rating: Very Comfortable]
[Effect: Stamina slightly increased temporarily]
“….Shit! It wasn’t a dream after all??”
The curses I let out would have made a sailor blush.
Unfortunately, there was nothing I could do about this situation but bear with it.
It was only the rumbling of my stomach that reminded me that I still had bodily needs that I needed to take care of before I could do anything.
[Hunger Status: 50% (Famished)]
[Effect: Reduced Stamina]
“Yeah, yeah. I know what happens when I am starving. No need to tell me about that.”
Instantly, the blue window disappeared at my words.
It is going to take some time to get used to this thing.
GGGGRRRRROOOOOOOWWWWLLLL~”
……Ok, think about all that later. Food first.
Let’s see if this place has anything for me to eat.
Getting up from my bed, I stared out from the window towards the night sky.
Specifically, I stared at the two moons, the smaller one partially hiding behind the larger one that looked very similar to Earth’s moon.
“…Yup. Definitely going to take some time to get used to all this madness.”
With an objective in mind, I started to move out of the room, only for it to suddenly open and a middle-aged man to walk into my room.
As our eyes met, I saw his surprise, which was then replaced with a strange mix of relief and resentment.
“Young Master! You are finally awake! Please stay here, I’ll inform the Lord and Madam.”
With that, the man rushed out of the room, leaving me behind.
…….Fuck this world. Seriously.
