The Monster of Kaon (Transformers Si): Chapter 59

“They should be here within the next few hours. However, not all the Titans are coming here. Lady Chela said that they are needed to start working on rebuilding Cybertron’s main infrastructure based on your list, so only Metroplex, Metrotitan, and Lady Chela are coming.”
“Good. What about the Space Bridge network? And the other diplomats? Are they ready for First Contact?”
“They are. Lady Chela has appointed Beastformers called Blackarachnia, Airazor, and Tigatron as the ambassadors from Eukaris. From Velocitron, a bot called Override is coming over with their Titan. As for Caminus, their very leader, the one you called the Mistress of Flame, is arriving on Cybertron shortly. Once they arrive, they will be waiting for your go-ahead before they arrive on Earth for a proper First Contact.”
“As for the Space Bridge network, they are already complete thanks to the fabrication drones you created. The Titans are already testing out the network that now connects the Space Bridges on Eukaris and Caminus, along with the newly built Velocitron Bridge and the ancient Space Bridge on Cybertron. The results are very promising based on the data I received.”
“Hm. Looks like things are going according to plan. What about Earth? Has there been any unintended side effects to what we did?”
Shockwave paused on the other side of my call as I flew through the air, disguised as a private jet that I recently scanned.
“Aside from the small gravitational anomalies that we expected, which should fix themselves in a few days, there has been no effect on the planet after we extracted the Chaos Bringer’s spark. I would say it was a complete success with close to no side effects.”
“That’s good. We don’t want the people we are trying to establish a diplomatic relationship with to suddenly become homeless thanks to our actions.”
The Space Bridge network was something that I had been planning ever since I asked Lady Chela to repair the Bridge on Caminus.
While I hated the fake Primes for many of the things that they did, I must admit that the one good thing that came out of those bastards' actions was the economic and cultural diversity born from the existence of the Space Bridge network that connected Cybertron and its colonies in the days of old.
That is something that I want our species to have again. That ability to trade, to exchange things, to form bonds, and the mixing of cultures across the colonies, once again.
Thankfully, the only colonies that I have been in contact with wish for the same thing, which allowed us to undertake this task.
While there are still a few colonies out there that I would like to bring into the fold again, that is for a later time, when I am done gathering the Omega Keys and fully restoring Cybertron's flora and fauna.
“…..Maximus, if I may, why are you trying to establish a diplomatic relationship between the humans and us? The other colonies, I can understand, since they are all branches of our own people, and their worlds were once our colonies. But why the humans? They don’t seem all that special either technologically, physically, or culturally. What advantage would we gain by establishing a relationship with them?”
“Perspective.”
“I don’t follow.”
I felt like smiling as I heard the same curious tone within his voice that I remembered from all those eons ago.
“Cybertronians and Humans are fundamentally different in every way possible. We are near-immortal beings of metal, while they are mortal beings with bodies of organic flesh. Their lifespans are a mere blink of an optic for us. And yet, this limited lifespan is why they advanced so fast compared to us.”
“Agreed. The speed at which they left behind their industrial age and advanced into the Nuclear Age is quite astonishing, even for an organic race.”
“That is not all. The way we look at the universe is also quite different. Given our cultural, economic, and physical differences, I have no doubt that we would gain a lot of insight into things that we never even imagined simply because of this difference in the way we view things.”
“Logical. But still, will this race of organics truly understand us? Will they be willing to truly join us in a full alliance despite our physical and cultural differences?”
“That is something I do not know, Shockwave. All we can do is take the first step. What happens afterwards is something for us to figure out in the future.”
However, what was left unsaid was that should things go south and humanity does become an enemy of my people, I already had a few backups in mind.
As people used to say in my old life, Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.
Soon, I completed the survey of the nearby land, a town called Jasper, which most definitely did not exist on my Earth, based on the limited details I remember from that life, mainly because I used to drive through this area a lot during my human life.
It is intriguing to see how many things were different on this Earth compared to my own.
From what I got based on the thorough search through this world’s internet and a few military information centers, thanks to my hacking of their military satellite network, many of the significant events that happened in my world did not happen or changed significantly.
First and foremost, after the 9/11 attacks, there was no War in Afghanistan in the world. Instead, it was a series of surgical strikes that directly uprooted Al-Qaeda and captured the mastermind of the attack, Osama bin Laden, who was executed in a similar infiltration mission to my world.
Already a tremendous improvement compared to my world, considering how many lives, how many resources, and how many soldiers were lost in that meaningless campaign on my Earth.
This also meant that Terrorism was not as much of an issue on this Earth as it was to ours simply because this method of discretion and secret war was adopted across the table by most of the other countries, allowing them to get rid of their own problematic groups, tyrants, and many other unsavory elements.
Overall, a significant improvement over my Earth already.
Aside from this major change, there are also other changes that significantly altered the world’s situation compared to my Earth.
Many tyrants that terrorized their generation in my world were secretly assassinated or removed from power in this one. Many political and economic issues that plagued my Earth were either reduced to manageable levels or never happened.
In many ways, this Earth feels like an idealized and optimistic version of my own, one where everything went right instead of going wrong.
However, what all of this meant to my current plans is that the Humans of this world were far closer to becoming a global species compared to my Earth, which would be a significant advantage in my efforts for a diplomatic contact with the humans.
Because I am definitely not interested in juggling a geopolitical diplomatic bomb where everyone is capable of destroying their world.
Suddenly, I was forced to roll in the air as a Cybertronian jet passed me by at full speed.
The jet suddenly transformed mid-air and landed on the desert below us, revealing my estranged sparkling grin at me savagely.
Even without any words, I already knew that he was here because it was our tradition. One that all of us created together during the early days of the Ascenticons to keep the ambitious bots in check.
The right to rule. The Trial of Kaon.
“I’ll talk to you later, Shockwave. I’ve got a wayward child that is long overdue for a beating.”
“…I would say good luck, but knowing you, it would be Megatron who needs luck.”
I simply smiled at those words before my form rippled and reshaped.
Time to cleanse this idiot of his self-inflicted Dark Energon corruption.
And beat the stupidity out of him while I am at it.
