The Monster of Kaon (Transformers Si): Chapter 61

Above Earth’s atmosphere, Shockwave’s ship floated silently as he kept an eye on the fight below while also using his satellite systems that he left in the Antilla system to track Unicron’s prison.

While there was a glitch a few minutes ago where everything in the system went dark, it was only for a few seconds before he was able to see the Antilla system and Unicron again, so he did not have to think too much about it.

However, he was distracted from his work when a Space Bridge opened into the ship from which a familiar bot walked out.

“Shockwave.”

“....It is good to hear your voice again, Soundwave.”

Soundwave simply nodded and walked beside Shockwave, watching the readings alongside his fellow former Senator.

“Why?”

“Why did I not join the rest of the Decepticons on Earth at the Autobot base?”

Once again, Soundwave nodded.

For a bot who had the power of telepathy, which allowed him to look into the minds of others across an entire continent, he was always measured with his words, even more so after he took the vow of silence.

It was as if he had forgotten how to speak properly.

However, Shockwave was not affected by this change because he always knew the meaning behind the short sentences that Soundwave would use, even back then, during the age of the Ascenticons.

Shockwave stopped working on the terminals and organized his thoughts for a second before speaking again.

“I do not think the Autobots would appreciate my presence down there. Especially those young bots who see me as evil incarnate, which may or may not be true. Since Maximus’s goal here is to end the war, I did not think it prudent to add an unpredictable variant into the mix while the situation was already delicate.”

“Logical. But flawed. Megatron would like to see you again.”

“That he would. The old guard was his most loyal followers, me included. That being said, I think we will meet soon enough.”

The two Decepticons fell silent as they watched the beatdown that was taking place on Earth, knowing that Megatron never stood a chance against Maximus, even with his boost gained from Dark Energon. The same boost that was now being systematically removed from him.

Then, just as the fight was reaching its end, Shockwave’s ship picked up on an incoming transmission, which surprised the old Senator.

“Lady Chela? What happened?”

“Nothing much, youngling. I just wanted to inform you that my kin and I are en route to Earth and should be there in a few minutes.”

“But, Maximus asked you to stay behind and act as backup in case of an emergency-“

“I know what the Knight asked of us. But now that the situation with the Chaos Bringer is mostly resolved, I thought I would help him out with his diplomatic mission.”

“...You mean terrorize the locals with your sheer size and arsenal?”

The ancient titan on the other side of the transmission chuckled.

“Correct. Maximus has already informed us about how the native species are not united as a single society and are prone to violence the moment they disagree with each other. So i thought we would intimidate them with our power and bring them to the negotiation slab.”

“You mean like how the Omega Guardians were sent to ‘negotiate’ with the Antillans?”

The line fell silent before Chela spoke again, but this time, her tone was quite cold, even for Shockwave.

“Control how you speak, child. You are not a child of us three, and neither are you a Prime or a Knight, so you have no authority to speak with us in such a way.”

“As for your question, the Omega Guardians, and Omega Supreme in particular, were fools who did not realize that they were being used by the fake Prime for his own goals. On the other hand, we are doing this of our own volition, and we are not going to attack the planet unless Maximus asks us to. Even then, we will only attack military installations and nothing else.”

“Unlike those foolish Guardians, we Titans are not mindless drones that will follow orders without questioning them.”

Shockwave fell silent at those words before he slowly nodded.

“....Alright. I will tell Maximus-“

“No need, child. I want this to be a surprise. You just focus on providing backup for the Knight.”

With that, the transmission cut off, leaving the ship in silence.

Shockwave did not even turn around before he spoke while sending coordinates for the Ancient Space Bridge on Cybertron.

“Are you not going to ask about how the Titans are related to all of this?”

“Negative. Maximus’s involvement is explanation enough.”

This time, Shockwave could not help but chuckle.

“Indeed. He is quite the anomaly, is he not?”

Shockwave silently watched his terminals as a colossal space bridge opened near the gas giant that the humans call Jupiter, allowing the gravitational force of the planet to mask the anomalous nature of the Space Bridge.

From within the bridge, the first three titans, Metroplex, Metrotitan, and Chela, silently flew through into the void. But what surprised Shockwave was the three ships that followed the titans out of the gate, each one a Warship on par with a Worldsweeper but still retaining their unique heritage.

The first ship to come through was a sleek ship that looked exactly like Maximus’s alt-mode before he became Fortress Maximus, but upscaled to the levels of a Warship.

The IFF of the ship marked it as the Camian diplomatic vessel, Caminus-1.

The next one was far more intimidating as it looked like a beast floating through the skies, clearly indicating its origin, which was only confirmed by its IFF that identified it as Eukaris-1.

And finally, the third one was similarly sleek as the first one but looked exactly like Unitex-1, as if it were a replica hastily made by its users. It's IFF marking it as the Velocitronian diplomatic vessel Velocitron-1.

Shockwave chose to suppress his curiosity and followed procedure.

“This is Shockwave. I have confirmed Space Bridge opening near the fifth planet of this star system. Acknowledge, over.”

“This is the Mistress of Flame aboard the Camian diplomatic vessel, Caminus-1. We acknowledge you, Senator Shockwave.”

“This is Blackarachnia or Eukaris aboard Eukarian peace-seeking vessel, Eukaris-1. I read you clearly, Standarformer.”

“This is Override of Velocitron aboard Velocitron-1. We acknowledge your transmission, Shockwave.”

“We read you loud and clear, child. My kin and I are ready.”

“Confirmed. Prepare stealth systems and engage in-system Warp. Set speed for 10 Au per second with the local system measurements.”

“Confirmed.”

“Acknowledged.”

“Done.”

With the three titans and ships moving in towards Earth, Shockwave turned towards his companion.

“Shall we go down? I think Maximus would like a heads-up before they arrive.”

The only response that Soundwave gave was the opening of the space bridge.

With that, the two ancient bots walked through, heading straight for the battlefield down below.
