The Monster of Kaon (Transformers Si): Chapter 64

It is quite funny to see one of the three oldest Titans of our race behave like children caught doing something bad, which they definitely did.

“Remind me again, Lady Chela, what was the plan that we made?”

“....We were supposed to bridge outside this star system, near what the humans call the Ort Cloud, and wait for the Diplomats from my world and others. Then, we were supposed to wait until you gave us the go-ahead for moving towards Earth for official contact.”

“And what did you do?”

“We bridged into the system’s fifth planet’ orbit along with the diplomatic ships, deliberately exposing ourselves to the human long-range telescopes and scans to establish a military supremacy over the nativs to give you an edge in the negotiations.”

I could not help but snort at those words.

“What you did was make me look bad as well as make the humans extremely nervous. Because of your actions, any diplomatic relationship that we can establish from here on out will always involve some kind of posturing and threats from either side.”

I sagged a little as I thought about what was to come.

“Now, you’ve forced me into a position where I will have to drastically reduce the benefits that I wanted to give the humans and make sure that they will never get the technological edge to harm our people, along with taking away any goodwill that I could have won out of them.”

“From now on, no matter my efforts, the humans will never truly trust us. They will always look at us as a militaristic species that brings out their WMDs the moment they encounter some obstacle.”

Which is a shame, considering the many things that I planned to give humanity.

I wanted to give them the recepie to making biofuels, Nuclear Fusion technology leages better and economical than their DINGUS project, economical space flight technology that would allow them to mine the astroids in their star system, and many more things that would make them a proper advanced civilization and also make sure that they don’t go the way of the Antillans should someone from our side become greedy and want their extinction.

But now, I will have to cut back on a lot of those plans, including my plan of letting them create their own version of the Space Bridge technology without the need for Cybermatter and Energon, just to make sure that they don’t become a threat to my people.

This would set back my plans for integrating humanity into our species as equals and allies by at least a thousand years, maybe even more, and most importantly, this will leave humanity vulnerable to any attacks from rogue Cybertronians or maybe even the Quintessons should they ever be inclined to conquer Earth.

Truthfully, I don’t want humanity to die such an ugly death should my worst predictions come true, but thanks to the actions of this idiotic space turkey and even the other diplomats, I don’t have any other choice but to take this course of action.

"But-"

"No excuses."

I interrupted the Titan, something that I never would have done before, but now, I am simply done with her antics and cannot tolerate her wild way of doing things anymore.

I felt my glare soften as I saw her depressed look.

"Look, I know that you are eager, and you also want the Decepticons to hand over the corpse of Tripticon, even if he was reviled for his actions back in the day, but rushing things is never a good thing. Take this chance to unwind and think about your actions. I need you with a fresh mind and ready to tackle the things to come at full capacity. We simply cannot afford you going rogue while negotiating with the natives."

Chela simply nodded at my words and sat in her chambers, her wings drooping in depression.

At least, she is not as rebellious as the Autobots and is actually willing to listen to my words, which is a huge improvement compared to my recent predicament.

Speaking of.

I turned towards the Mistress of Flame, or Stormrunner as she prefers I call her in private, and found her still busy with the Forge of Solus Prime, staring at it with awe and practically worshiping it then and there if not for her self-control.

Override and Blackarachnia had already left to do something on their own, with Override going to Windblade at the Autobot base to talk about something while Blackarachnia went to Cybertron through my Space Bridge, heading straight for Unitex-1 for the sake of a long-awaited reunion between herself and her spark-mate.

“Are you done yet? I will need your wisdom for what is to come, Stormrider.”

She finally looked up from the Forge, allowing me to pick it up and store it in its container on my back.

As the Forge’s systems spun up momentarily when I grasped it, the Mistress’s optics glowed with awe and gave me a knowing look.

“I always knew you were worthy of being a Prime.”

“I am not a Prime, Stormrider. The Forge only responds to me because of my title as the Knight of Cybertron.”

“I beg to differ, but that is a conversation for another time. So, what do you need?”

We walked out of the temporary hangar that we made on Europa, one of Jupiter’s moons, leaving behind Chela, who sulked at the confinement order I gave her for her blunder, along with her spark-mate, Metrotitan, who was slumbering to conserve his energy and Metroplex who was celebrating a reunion with the older Autobots on the otherside of this moon.

For a Titan that was older than the Quintesson war, she is quite stupid to say the least, and acts like a youngling most of the time.

But I also understood that she only behaves in such a way when in the presence of those she trusts or when she is truly happy.

Soon, we arrived in the harsh cold of the celestial body, our bodies immediately engaging our internal thermal systems to keep ourselves from freezing into stasis.

Unlike with most of the younger generation, and even Orion and Megatronus’s generation, who were born with bodies that could be considered low maintenance, and as such, are born or created with as little amount of complicated parts as possible, we of the older generations are much different.

Particularly those born in the earlier ages of Cybertron, such as the Predacons, born during the Age of Evolution, the original colonizers of the Cybertronian colonies, the Mistress, Ratchet, Shockwave, Hammerbyte, myself and many more who were born during the Age of Wrath, and even Sentinel and many others of the older generation born during the beginning of the Golden Age, we are all born with powerful systems that allow us to handle nearly all kinds of ecosystems, even the vaccume of space and temperatures nearing Absolute zero and heat nearing the melting point of most materials.

That is why the Mistress and I did not feel any different when we walked on the frozen surface of Europa, when most of the younger bots would already start to experience system failures and would have ended up freezing into stasis soon.

“...Stormrider, tell me something. How do you handle being a leader of an entire people? How do you handle those that do not wish to follow your words and won’t even listen to what you have to say?”

“Is this about the younger Autobots?”

I simply nodded my head.

Ever since I defeated Megatronus, the Decepticons have fallen in line and are now following my words without any question, even the Vehicons and the other MTO are the same.

But the Autobots are a whole different story.

The younger ones simply refuse to acknowledge me. They even went as far as sending a distress signal out to their fellow Autobots out there, hoping to stop me in some way. If it were not for Soundwave, I would never have even known about this signal.

Thankfully, their rebellious attitude has softened a little bit after Elita, Orion, and the others talked to them privately and are now at least willing to acknowledge my presence.

But the problem still remains.

I need the Autobots and the Decepticons to stop their meaningless fight and present a united front when negotiating with the Humans.

Do I need Humanity to be a part of my people? No. But do I want them to? Yes.

I don’t know if it is because I was once a human or if there is another reason, but I feel like there are a lot of potential benefits to be had by forging an alliance with humanity. That is why I am putting in so much effort.

But that does not mean I will put my people in jeopardy.

If the Autobots remain as stubborn as they are now, if they fail to recognize the bigger picture, and the humans continue with their petty political games and possible espionage efforts in the form of their newly formed NEST group (did those fools seriously think they could keep me from knowing about thier little schemes by hiding underground?), and if the tensions continue to remain as they are now, Then I will simply abandon this avenue of alliance and delay if for another attempt in a few thousand years.

After all, for us Cybertronians, a thousand years is equal to what a week is to the humans, nothing worth fussing about.

Who knows? Maybe by that time, this version of humanity might even reach a unified society that is easier to deal with.

Shaking my head to get rid of those thoughts, I turned towards the Mistress, who gave me a thoughtful look.

“Truth be told, I have never faced a situation similar to your own, but I do have a little bit of knowledge about rebellious bots under my command. I don’t know how much that will help you, but if you want, I can share that experience with you.”

“I’d appreciate it.”

With a smile, she transformed into a Cybertronian jet form, showing that she had finally brought her T-Cog back online, now that Caminus is no longer undergoing an Energon crisis.

“Come, let’s talk as we explore this place.”

I just chuckled and transformed into my own jet form.

The next few hours were spent flying around the icy moon, talking about all kinds of things, but mostly, it was a relaxing flight that took my mind off the burden that I had taken upon myself.

Maybe this is what I truly needed? A fresh mind and perspective?

I will only know the truth of this guess when I face the Autobots again, especially the group that is headed towards Earth and will arrive in this system in a few days' time.

Comments

Who are the autobots that are arriving? Hoping atleast some of them have good head on their shoulder.
