Of Aura and Ethernano (Fairy Tail/ Jaune Arc SI): Chapter 18

Caith Shelter.

A relatively unknown guild until a year ago, but one that has been steadily climbing its way to fame thanks to the actions of some of its members.

Within its home, many people were moving about. Happily chatting about things or going about their lives.

And out of this large group of young adults and adults, the ones who stood out the most were, of course, the three children and one white kitten.

“Animal Soul Take Over: Rabbit!”

Lisanna Strauss shouted out cutly as her magic activated, transforming her into a large purple rabbit, making Wendy give her an excited look, while Carla only huffed, but still gave the girl a curious look.

“Lisanna-nee! That looks so cute!”

“Right? It is so convenient, too. I can make burrows and run really fast. With this new one, I think we can take some medium rank missions next time!”

Elfman chuckled at his little sister’s words before smiling kindly at the younger girls.

“Maybe we should stick with lower rank missions for now until Mira-nee and Jaune-nii give us the go-ahead.”

Lisanna gave her brother a betrayed look while Wendy looked up at the boy with a teary look.

“But Elf-nii!”

“E-Elf-nii, T-They will never approve of it.”

Carla huffed and flopped down on top of Elfman’s head, lazily stretching on the gentle boy.

“And that is a good thing. You three are not ready to take on midium rank quests just yet. Even Master Roubaul agrees. Not to mention that Jaune will yell at you three if you try anything without telling him.”

Lisanne’s rabbit ears instantly drooped as she sulked together with Wendy, who looked just as disappointed, making Carla smirk a little.

“Remember what happened when Mirajane went on a quest without telling him to get her Satan Soul?”

That reminder from the kitten was enough to make Lisanna and Wendy hug each other in pure terror.

That day, Mirajane had heard word about a powerful demon threatening the villages near the Waas Forest and nearby mountains, which fall under Caith Shelter’s territory. So, she decided that she would take it on and kill the demon.

A relatively normal thing for the mages of a guild to do. However, the mistake she made was that she did not tell Jaune about it, and neither did she bother to do any scouting about the strength of the demon in question.

The result was that she was nearly done in by the demon, only managing to win against it through sheer luck and taking it over with her magic, giving her the Satan Soul transformation that she now uses frequently.

The chewing out that Jaune gave Mirajane that day was the stuff of legends, making the rest of the Strauss siblings, Wendy, and even Carla, afraid of ever facing his wrath ever again. In fact, even Master Roubaul did not escape Jaune’s anger that day.

Arguably, it was even worse for Roubaul since Jaune gave him a rather harsh punishment by cutting off his alcohol supply for a few months, much to the horror of the Guild Master, who was reduced to a lifeless husk for all those months.

Suddenly, the three children and the kitten were distracted from their talk when they sensed three familiar magic signatures heading their way.

Within a few seconds, a large shadow engulfed all of Caith Shelter before shrinking and gently landing in front of the Guild hall.

“They are back!”

The children’s eyes lit up as they rushed towards the Wyvern, just in time to see Mirajane flop to the ground and kiss it like it was a holy relic.

Jaune, on the other hand, was doing his best not to laugh as he too dismounted.

“Jaune-nii! Mira-nee!”

Jaune smiled as he heard Lisanna’s shout and turned just in time to catch the two little girls who jumped him and Mirajane.

“You came back really fast! Was the quest that easy? Where did you go this time? Did you get any souvenirs for me?”

Lisanna continued rapid-firing her questions while Wendy simply hugged the two teenagers happily.

Jaune chuckled a little before patting them on the head, even pulling the shy Elfman into the group hug along with Carla, who protested but did not try to get away.

“It was a rather easy job, so no worries. And yes, I did get some things for you kids. If it were not for a certain someone, we would have made it home a long time ago.”

“Shut it, Jaune!”

Mira’s heated words and betrayed look only made Jaune laugh harder.

In the past year, after being inducted into Caith Shelter thanks to the Strauss siblings, Jaune had been spending all of his time doing quests and earning fame, just like he told Knight Captain Dawn.

Originally, he was only going to be a probationary member. Someone who is associated with the guild but not a full-time member. This was because of his adventurous spirit that refused to stay in a single place for a long time.

However, as the days went by and he mingled with the people of the Guild, he slowly realized that he had grown attached to these people, especially the Strauss siblings, Wendy and Carla.

So, in the end, he decided to become a full-time member.

However, he soon realized a problem.

Because Caith Shelter was relatively unknown, the number of medium rank and high rank missions assigned to it by the Kingdoms was practically nonexistent, which was bad news for Jaune since he needed those high rank missions both for training and money.

So, he did the only logical thing and started clearing out all the missions with a near-perfect record, slowly spreading the fame of Caith Shelter and attracting more missions.

And after Mirajane’s stunt, he decided to forcefully induct her into a team, forbading her from going on solo missions until she was strong enough to defeat Juniper, his Wyvern, in a straight fight (which was practically impossible for the girl as she was right now).

And it was thanks to these efforts that Caith Shelter was now slowly rising in fame.

Juniper shrank her size to match Carla and landed on Jaune’s shoulder, making him smile and scratch her head while he led the children into the Guild.

Jaune Arc was inducted into Caith Shelter by sheer coincidence. And even if he were given a chance to go back, he would still choose this guild all the same.

Because he had finally found a place in this world where he truly belonged.

And so begins the legend of the Golden Knight of Caith Shelter.
