How does Ginobili compare to guys like Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and other Mega scorers who didn't have the luxury of playing with Tim Duncan? When they got to join KG they had decent stats and played a lot more relative mpg (like 38 39 on an all time great defense --whereas Ginobili had Bowen and other defensive help on the perimeter) So that extra 6 minutes Pierce and Ray Allen are contributing to both ends of the court......but in terms of PER and relative efficiency within their own teams Manu always was superior than most 2nd bananas in NBA Championship Team history. Everyone seems to forget or underrate Ginobili's 2005 playoff run where he had a 25 PER and insane offensive stats. He essentially played like a 33mpg part-time superstar that year in the playoffs. The only other 2nd star in recent history that played to that caliber OFFENSIVELY was Kobe in 2000-01, and maybe PAU GASOL in 2008-2010 playoffs? He looks like a more refined efficient version of 1995 Clyde Drexler. Was Ginobili actually a little lucky in 2005? Maybe he played mediocre competition? Had the luxury of not having to play 39mpg+ and be the MAN? BEN can you make a video on Ginobili being sort of underrated and overratted in terms of career and his 2005 playoff run. Most people would say he is below Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Kobe in the early Laker runs etc.....below Klay Thompson possibly and other second bananas who had a track record of being the #1 on some decent to mediocre teams. Was Ginobili simply an ideal 2nd/3rd banana and not fit for a #1? Even guys like Robert Horry said if he played better in other playoff runs they would have won at least 2 more championships -- I think Richard Jefferson even sort of hinted at that as well, as though Ginobili was simply a very good shooting guard who got lucky to play with Duncan and wasn't much more then that.
