When you made it to the Bangtan house –that's what their pack was called, you found out– everything was eerily quiet. It was close to five am after all, it's not as if it was normal to be up at that time.

They were werewolves, not vampires.

You were as quiet as a mouse, not wanting to wake anybody up. You especially didn't want to see Hoseok. You were scared you had been such a great inconvenience he had to turn off his phone so you'd stop bothering him.

Well, you learned your lesson.

One of your hands was in Taehyung’s and the other in Jimin's as Jungkook walked ahead of you through the turns and hallways of the big mansion. You felt at peace right now, sandwiched between the two men, and not at all like you had felt in the coffee shop less than an hour ago.

Why are we on the way to your room? Jimin asked Jungkook, hoping his inner voice sounded as annoyed as he felt.

Because that's where she'll sleep. The maknae answered, not even turning back to look at him.

Taehyung scoffed, and continued: Give us one good reason why she should stay in your room and not in ours.

Your room is closer to Namjoon hyungs. If she stays there all night, he'll find her before we even think about what we're going to tell him.

Jimin and Taehyung looked at each other after the reasonable explanation. They didn't see it, but Jungkook was smiling victoriously.

"Uh, just… wait here for a minute."

The youngest man told you as he slipped inside his bedroom. Jungkook wasn't expecting company, much less yours, so his room was a mess. On a good day he would have changed the sheets, put out some candles, maybe a flower vase near the bed.

For now he had to content himself with picking up his dirty clothes to throw inside the hamper, fluff his pillows and rid the duvet of crumbs, and cracking open the window to let the stale air out, and the fresh wind in.

For fucks sake, it's like you want Namjoon hyung to catch us! Jimin was naghing from the hall.

Fine, come in.

The door was opening as Jungkook pulled used boxer shorts from his gaming chair.

"Please don't mind the mess."

You were giggling when you walked into the room because you could hear the sweet boy running around to make his bedroom presentable to you. Jimin and Tae let go of your hands so you could use the ensuite bathroom to freshen up.

You couldn't brush your teeth, but you did wash your face and dress into a pair of sweatpants and a shirt that you found folded on top of the sink, assuming Jungkook had left it out for you.

"You can sleep on the bed." Jungkook told you.

"He'll come sleep with us." Jimin explained.

You giggled again because Jungkook did not seem happy about that.

"Thank you. All three of you, for coming to rescue me. If you handn’t, I don't even know…"

"We're even now." Jungkook gave you a wink.

Taehyung helped you get into bed, even going as far as picking out one of Jungkook's plushies for you to hug. Of course the younger man had a red face when he realized now you knew he owned plushies in the first place, but the visual of you cuddling with it on his bed eased his embarrassment.

"Would you stay? Until I fall asleep?"

The three men looked at each other, and Tae was the one to ask: "Which of us–"

"The three of you? Please."

They nodded as you got comfortable on the big plush bed. You should have been a little weirded out to sleep in a strange place, but you loved how everything about Jungkook smelled of the ocean. From his skin to his bedsheets, and even the small anime plushie.

Jungkook was sitting on a small corner of the bed, his inner alpha absolutely crooning for the fact you were wearing his clothes, sleeping in his bed. And he didn’t even need to give you the clothes! He had left them out for when he came home after visiting you, so he’d wear it to bed tonight. But they looked much better on you, and now everything that was his would smell like you.

Taehyung took the gaming chair, so he’d have the perfect view of your pretty face and slightly parted lips as you breathed softly, letting sleep take over you. You had been so scared tonight, the coffee shop reeked of nothing but panic and wet dog. If the Southside mutts had touched a single hair on your head, he’d bring the entire city down.

Jimin was sitting on the arm of the gaming chair, practically on top of his best friend. He thought you should be in his bed instead, wearing his clothes. They would fit you much more nicely than the already oversized fabric Jungkook liked to wear. But at least you were safe, and at least you were with them.

What do we do now? Taehyung asked through their personal mind intercom, not wanting their voices to bother you.

What can we do? Send her back? Jimin didn’t need to hear their answers to know that wasn’t even an option. She was attacked. Protecting humans from the Southside is our job too.

Let’s bring her with us. Jungkook told them. If hyung wants to go to Dalju so much, she’ll come with.

There were holes in their plan, and you weren’t a puppy they could hide under their bed hoping the parents wouldn’t find out and they’d get to keep you. But after tonight, it was clear the Southside was after you. And there was no way in hell they would let them get you. You belonged to the Bangtan pack, even if you didn’t know it yet.

I’ll go to her apartment, I know where she lives. Jungkook told them as he carefully got up from the bed. I’ll pack her a bag.

I’ll come and help. Jimin decided.

Yoongi woke up with the sun on his face. He had been so stressed last night, after the pack meeting, that he forgot to close his blinds before going to bed. And now that he was up, he couldn’t go back to sleep anymore.

He didn’t know at what time the leader wanted to hit the road, but he could not be bothered to start packing now either. Leaving his bedroom in his old pajamas and a serious case of messy hair, the second oldest of the pack followed the familiar clinking of pans and pots towards his only hyung in the kitchen.

When Seokjin was stressed, he cooked. So the kitchen island was filled with food that would be enough to feed two packs of hungry wolves.

“You okay, hyung?”

Seokjin didn’t look away from the sizzling frying pan in front of him for a while, only regarding Yoongi when the perfectly cooked scrambled eggs were placed on a plate.

“Since we’re leaving anyway, I didn’t want to leave any food to go bad.” the man explained with an excuse.

“Good thinking.”

Yoongi accepted the coffee cup his hyung served him, but he didn’t really feel like eating yet. Letting out what was on his mind, he asked:

“Do you think Joonah is doing the right thing?”

Seokjin took a deep breath before answering: “Yes and no. I do think we should go to Dalju. We haven't been back in a long time, and we need to check in with our allies there.” he spoke as he took a seat in front of his dongsaeng. “And we’d have to go next month anyway, for the ceremony.”

“It’s a stupid ceremony.” Yoongi groaned.

“It’s tradition. But yeah, I think it's the right thing to do. I just wish we didn't have to leave her.”

“Hm.”

Yoongi nodded because he agreed with the elder.

“I really thought she might be it, you know?” Jin had a pair of chopsticks in his hand, but he didn’t pick anything to eat.

“Pack Omega?”

“Yeah.”

“Have you ever heard of pack human, maybe?” Yoongi chuckled, because he thought about it too.

Even the coffee Yoongi had been sipping tasted bitter, because it wasn’t the one you made. Both men stayed in silence, too lost in their own minds to actually focus on eating anything.

“I thought I heard her last night.” Yoongi admitted, a little embarrassed his withdrawal brain had started conjuring up pieces of you to haunt him. “If I take a deep breath right now I’m sure I can smell her.”

“Wait, I thought it was just me?”

Both men stared at each other with furrowed eyebrows as they made silent theories in their minds.

"You don't think–" Yoongi threw a glance over his shoulder. At this point in the late morning there should be at least three starving boys chomping down the food in front of them. The smell alone would have been enough to bring the maknaes over.

Both men got up from the table and rushed upstairs. Both of their bedrooms were on the first floor, while the maknaes’ and Namjoon’s were on the second. From the middle of the main staircase, the alphas' noses could already pick up your flowery sweet scent; too strong for it to be a mirage.

It got stronger and stronger the deeper they moved down the hallway.

“Jungkook.” Seokjin was nodding towards the maknae’s door.

“I swear if he kidnapped her–”

“Okay, he’s not that irresponsible.”

Seokjin tapped on the door, but heard no answer. Yoongi wasn’t as patient as the eldest, especially now that he knew he could smell you on the other side of the bedroom, so he opened the door a crack. The whiff of your scent was too much, all at once.

If this was a cartoon, his soul would have left his body to float away to you. But it wasn’t, so his feet dragged deeper inside the room, as his ears picked up on the sound of your soft breathing and the quiet beat of your heart.

Pretty. Yoongi was cooing.

She looks so peaceful. I guess we can cross out kidnapping from the list. Jin pointed out.

But how is she he–

All thoughts and conversations were interrupted as you stirred on the bed, letting out little tired groans. Both men froze in place, not wanting to spook you as your eyes blinked heavily with sleep, parting just a smudge. Just enough to see who was there.

Yoonie.” you softly whispered, seeing him first. Yoongi would happily have his name legally changed to that, if it would make you happy. Then your sleepy eyes moved behind him, and your smile widened. “And Jinnie.”

“Hey, sweet girl.” Yoongi was sitting on the side of Jungkook’s bed.

He was a little –very– relieved all he could smell right now was you. If he had found the maknae in bed with you, his alpha would have been pissed.

“What time is it?” you yawned cutely behind your hand, forcing your body to sit up against the headboard.

“A little past eleven.” Seokjin was the one who answered you, with an easy smile on his face.

That explained why you felt so tired, it was still too early by your standards. You rubbed your eyes, willing the sleepy to leave you.

“How did you… get here?” Seokjin asked you.

“Oh, right.” you blinked a few times, compelling your brain to catch up. “Didn’t they tell you?”

Both men shook their heads, so it was up to you to tell them what happened at Moonlight yesterday.

“I was attacked last night.” you said, hearing small gasps of worry. So you assured them: “I’m okay, I promise! It was the two guys from that night, Yoongi. The ones who live in my building.”

“Southside.” he whispered, but you still caught it.

“Yeah! They said something about that!”

“What did they say to you?” Seokjin wanted to know.

“The guy… He said I belong to the south, that I belong to them.” the mere thought brought a bad kind of goosebumps to your skin. “I don’t know what would have happened if Tae, Jimin and Kook hadn’t shown up.”

They must have sneaked out after the meeting. Seokjin told Yoongi, who nodded. God, I’ve never been more thankful for their disobedient asses.

“Is it because I live on the other side of some kind of border?”

“Clever girl.” Yoongi said and watched your cheeks burn a pretty pink, just like the first time he called you that.

“I don’t want to belong to the south!” you pouted. It wasn’t a laughing matter, but both men let out chuckles.

“Who do you want to belong to?”

Yoongi asked you with a smirk and dangerous eyes that awakened the butterflies in your stomach. But you bit your lips and said:

“The boys said I’m coming with you somewhere.” you told them. “Kook went to my apartment to pick up my stuff.”

At least that’s what you thought they had told you, you were too sleepy and your brain felt too foggy to pick up on the exact words they were saying.

Seokjin and Yoongi also didn’t know what exactly the maknaes had told you, but they also didn’t feel comfortable leaving you behind after the new knowledge. And if you were okay with leaving…

“Do you want to come with us?” Seokjin asked you and you were nodding before he finished.

“I mean, I don’t have to… I don’t want to be an inconvenience. But I don’t wanna stay here either, so I could just go home to my parents–”

“You can come with us.” Yoongi insisted, in fact.

Namjoon had been out of the house all morning, taking care of last minute business in Seoul so they could get on the road by sundown at most. Maybe he could get a few hours of sleep in before then too.

That’s what he hoped, of course. But it was never an easy day for the leader of Bangtan.

As soon as he walked into the mansion, he knew something was up. Firstly, the hallways smelled of you. If he closed his eyes, he could picture you leaving the maknae’s bedroom, walking into the kitchen, visiting the living room. His inner alpha was extremely happy, letting out chirps and groans, begging him to find you, to hold you, to put a stop to all the missing you.

But he was a rational man. And his orders had been clear, the pack was not to contact you again. And they brought you into their home instead.

“So let me get this straight.” the leader spoke to his pack, all in the living room, much like had happened last night. “You went after Yn even after I explicitly told you not to?”

The three youngest of the pack were sitting on the big couch, as Namjoon paced in front of them, and the other three members were off to the side.

“And thank God we did.” Jungkook didn’t back down from what he believed in, no matter how wrong he might have been for disobeying his leader. “She would have been taken by the Southside if we hadn’t.”

“What happened to them?” Namjoon enquired.

“They ran away. We didn’t even do much to them, we just wanted to get Yn out–” Taehyung explained.

“And you had to bring her here?”

“It’s good that we did, hyung!” Jimin was a little more apologetic. “Tell him, Kook, tell him what we found!”

All eyes were trained on the maknae, there were things the other three hyungs hadn’t heard yet either.

“Jimin-ssi and I went to her apartment to–”

“Check the perimeter.” Jimin interrupted. It wouldn’t be the best idea to tell their leader you were coming with them to Dalju before letting him know all the facts.

“–and everything was upside down. Furniture was broken, clothes had been torn, there were scratches on the wall.”

She told us the Southside is claiming her. Yoongi told the leader.

“Well, she does live in the south.” Namjoon rebutted, his thoughts traveling a mile a minute.

“You can’t be serious right now.” Hoseok scoffed.

His tone of voice made the leader snap his head in the direction of his best friend, his second in command.

“You can’t actually tell me you’ll let them.” the older man continued. “We can’t just let them take–”

“That’s part of the rules, you know it just as well as I do, Hoseok. If you live in the Southside, you are under their jurisdiction.” Namjoon reasoned. “Human or wolf.”

Namjoon didn’t plan on giving you up to the Southside, not even for a second. You were obviously too important to his pack, too important to him. He wanted nothing more than to make sure you were safe, to keep you with them. But he knew that stealing you away wouldn’t be the wisest decision.

Wolves were extremely territorial, and that extended to individuals they considered theirs too.

And if two Southside wolves had taken an interest in you, to the point where the mere interaction with Northside packs made you a target, they wouldn’t take it lightly if Bangtan stole you away. Namjoon wanted you with them, yes, but he wanted to do it the right way.

He just needed time to figure out how.

“She’s coming with us, Joonah.” Seokjin told him. A leveled and calm tone that let them know it wasn’t up for discussion. “We already took a vote before you arrived.”

“I’m still the pack leader, Jin.”

“Yeah, but unless you want to use your alpha voice on all of us, she’s coming.” Hoseok backed up the eldest.

Hoseok was one of the members used to blindly follow Namjoon. But he was extremely hurt for the way he had used the alpha voice on him, which made him miss your call and text messages as you asked him for help. If it wasn’t for the maknaes going after you, you could have been seriously hurt and it was something that would plague Hoseok with guilt for the rest of time.

He was still to talk to you, which is why he excused himself from the living room when the meeting was deemed finished, and went to find you in Jungkook’s bedroom.

You were sitting on the bed when there was a knock at the door, accessing the luggage of things Jungkook and Jimin managed to salvage from your apartment.

They had told you it was all they could save, since your neighbors were pissed enough by their failed attack to barge into your apartment and take out their frustrations on your things.

Thankfully you were never a materialistic person, but it was still sad to think all you owned right now could fit inside a suitcase. The boys got some of your clothes –the ones that weren't torn to pieces–, shoes, smaller things like a jewelry box, makeup bag and things that your attackers deemed useless.

Besides, your world had changed so much in the span of a few days that you couldn't seem to care about some furniture and mugs.

"Come in." you called.

You watched as the door opened and Hoseok walked inside.

It broke his heart the way your smile faltered and you looked at the purple sweater on your lap instead of him.

"Hey, pretty girl." he was careful as he stepped into the bedroom.

"Hi."

The atmosphere was obviously tense and Hoseok hated that. Tentatively, he sat on the opposite end of the bed, trying not to pry and stare at your clothes. But he saw some cute things there that he would love to see you wearing.

"Are you too upset with me?" he asked after a couple beats.

"Upset– why would I be upset?"

"Because I didn't see your messages–"

"Oh, I thought they had annoyed you–"

"Why would your messages annoy me–"

The talking over each other made you giggle, lifting the heavy weight sinking Hoseok’s heart.

"I'm sorry I didn't answer. We were in the middle of something important." Hoseok fiddled with his earlobe. "But nothing is more important than your safety. If I had known it was you…"

"I know, Hobi, it's alright."

"It's not. But I promise it won’t happen again.”

You laughed, placing your sweater back inside the suitcase, along with other pieces.

“How can you promise that?”

Hoseok was pulling his phone from his pocket as he said: “For starters, I’ll never keep your contact on silent mode.” he tapped the screen a few times, a concentrated furrow to his brows. “And second, what’s your favorite song?”

“What for?”

“Your ringtone, of course.” the man wiggled his eyebrows.

“Let me choose!”

He placed the device on your open palm, scooting a little closer on the bed so he could see what you were doing. Or so he could smell more of you.

You were typing away as you searched for the song you wanted, a mischievous smile to your lips. You picked the part of the song you wanted and let it play:

At night when the stars light up my room, I sit by myself talking to the moooooooon…

“Very original, a song about the moon for a werewolf.” Hoseok rolled his eyes and you giggled.

You played another song:

In touch with the ground I'm on the hunt. I'm after you. Smell like I sound,

I'm lost in a crowd.  And I'm hungry like the wolf…

“Aish.” Hoseok was laughing so much he tumbled down on the bed next to you, head resting on your knee.

“No?” you giggled, not resisting the urge to run your fingers through his soft hair. “Tough crowd.”

The more you lightly scratched his scalp and threaded your fingers through his brown locks, the more Hoseok relaxed, eyes closing as he leaned more into your touch, cheek rubbing on your thigh. He looked like a puppy who loved getting pets.

“Cute.”

At the sound of your voice, Hoseok’s eyes shot open to stare at you so intensely it made you gasp.

“I’ll show you cute.”

In one swift movement, Hoseok flipped on the bed, on hands and knees as he charged toward you, making you fall back against the pillows. The man was on top of you in a second, a menacing grumbling from his chest as low and deep growling sounds spilled from his heart shaped lips.

Hoseok huffed a puff of air that moved your hair off your shoulder and side of your neck. You watched with wide eyes as he bared his teeth and snapped them loudly next to your ear. The gasp you let out as your hands grabbed at his shirt were for anything but fear.

Your breathing was heavy as the growling continued, all husky and low. A small moan left your lips as his perfectly shaped nose dragged against the column of your throat and he inhaled deeply.

“I hope you know you smell delicious.” Hoseok rasped and you really wished to feel his teeth on your skin. “It drives us all crazy.”

“You’re driving me crazy right now–”

Your lips parted as Hoseok’s made contact with the base of your throat, hands squeezing harder at the fabric of his shirt. You felt his tongue warming your skin, but he moved away too soon, sitting away from you. Your mind was swirling with confusion, until the door opened and a frazzled Jungkook walked in.

“Do you need– oh.” Jungkook froze as he looked at you on his bed and the man who avoided his eye contact. “Hey, hyung.”

“Sup, Kook.”

“We’re almost leaving. You should go pack.” the younger man said with squinting eyes.
