Build of the day for 15.9.2022

As expected this week was very busy in terms of everything that got completed this week. I didn't have much time to work on the prototypes so I only was able to just add a really basic way to move, and I added a rock to add some point to navigate around. It's really basic. Besides that I reviewed and helped finish a bunch of smaller and bigger PRs.

A big highlight is probably the slime jet being finished (though the mucilage icon and jet model are not final yet). Sadly the other big feature of day/night cycle did just not have enough Steam to be pushed to completion (it didn't get any progress, other than some more review comments, in the past week).

Other highlight is probably the balancing of timed reproduction and a weighted entity limit system that seems to help a lot with game performance as big cells are a lot heavier than small cells. Let us know if the limit is not very well balanced for the late game, but early game it seems to help a lot with having stable FPS. And the last screenshot shows how  the game now shows when it was built. Also the main menu now has a lot of text in DevBuild telling what they are to make it much less common that someone accidentally plays a normal Thrive version when they meant to play a DevBuild.

I won't promise that this build will be the same as the planned 0.5.10 release candidate releasing on Saturday, but it's probably at least pretty close. At least I don't have any work hours left to put in tomorrow, and I wouldn't even have any good candidates for last minute things to finish anyway. After the RC we'll be focusing purely on bug fixes until 0.5.10 release planned on the 24th (DevBuild patrons will get the usual early build of that as well either on next Thursday or next week's Friday). Hopefully this time the public testing doesn't turn up as many issues as it did for 0.5.9.


In this build:

- Made some progress on the macroscopic stage prototype

- Added new slime jet organelle

- Initial balance pass for timed reproduction

- Entity limit is now a weighted so that fewer big cells spawn

- Potentially fixed a bug that allowed things to spawn over the

  entity limit

- Reworked auto-evo predation calculations

- Added some controller input handling options in preparation

  for proper controller support

- There's now separate button to hide/show the environment panel

- Save counting should no longer break if there are saves with

  bad numbers in the names

- Added a button to open our feature suggestions site

- The exact commit and time Thrive was built is now shown in options

- Exact build info is now shown for DevBuilds in the main menu

- Fixed tutorial starting when entering the game through the

  auto-evo exploring tool game

- Removed the useless move to patch button in auto-evo exploring tool

- Graphs now use a cache for their data points to allow their re-use

- Graph tooltips are now destroyed properly

- Converted scripts in our repository from ruby to C#

- New language: Croatian

- Updated translations
