I thought last week's episode was an excellent counterpoint to the prevailing sentiment I've felt throughout this podcast. I think if you guys have a political 'slant' it's economic populism and zoomer doomerism, i.e. highlighting the ways in which society is screwing over young people, and especially young men. I don't think you guys are inaccurate, but I do think you focus on stories that play into those themes, and I think you've attracted an audience that likes to hear that particular perspective. As someone trying to get a job in the tech industry, I've felt like the economy is collapsing and shit has become unaffordable and all of the bad things, etc. But just yesterday I met my friend who's a lineman (repairing telephone lines, ~$175k annual salary for a journeyman in upstate NY) for beers, and he showed me he just bought a house in our hometown for $250,000. Not a massive house, but bigger than the one my parents raised me in! I think when you grow an audience that likes a particular type of content, it can create a positive feedback loop where you lean more and more heavily on one particular narrative. Eventually that can isolate and distort your perspective. That's why I think it's really important to have friendly conversations with people who disagree with you. If you lose a partisan audience because of that, so be it.

Always embarrassing when grown adults demand you never give credit to someone “Bad”. If people can see nuance and moral gray in fictional villains, they should be able to see it in real life “villains” too. If they can’t, they aren’t worth listening to.
