I agree with this. If we could create that communication on the lemonade stand discord - especially if the hosts have questions, etc - it would be beneficial. I know I’ve crashed out multiple times and always end with a “if you want to talk about this, let’s hop in VC because clearly there are some miscommunications going on”. I know there is a group that can be pretty good about this, but if we could make it a cultural thing - it would be really beneficial

2025-12-09 20:36:02 +0000 UTCI’d absolutely attend a live lemonade stand event. Hopefully there’s at least one in New York or somewhere in the Northeast. To add to the point about succeeding in career and life: I’m a union electrician working for the state. I’m 28 and just reached step 3 of 7 on the pay scale. My income is now in the low six figures, with solid benefits and a state pension. I’m also saving extra through separate accounts and have about 43k put aside so far. The stability has allowed my wife and me to buy our first home in late 2023 and fully gut/renovate our kitchen and living room. Now we’re trying to start a family of our own. I started out making first-year pay in the low $20s and commuting an hour into the city. The sacrifices were worth it, and for anyone considering this path, I can honestly say go for it. Keep up the great work gents and love the content Happy holidays ! Note to Aiden if he sees this: I commented on the Discord post about being in a union and also sent you a direct message with more details about what I do. I genuinely have no idea how Discord works, I only use it because of this podcast so my apologies if I did something wrong. Let me know if you’d like more info, I’m happy to share.

2025-12-09 20:11:43 +0000 UTCto the question of if lemonade stand is too repetitive, I wouldn't personally worry about that. all news/tech/politics/economics media whether it's a book, podcast, tv show, article, etc have a bias to them. functionally the people who are asserting these ideas have opinions. those opinions may change slightly, but really it's the world that's changing all the time. hearing your analysis or reaction to the constantly changing world, knowing your opinions and values, is what makes it special. I think leaning towards being goofier doesn't solve that, because it's not like your takes change. perhaps more varied stories would be the best way to mix it up, but you all already bring so many different things to the table. idk. I like what u guys do!

2025-12-08 20:19:58 +0000 UTCI personally feel like not giving full context is fine. You'll get an angry comment either way, it's just going to be complaining about how you gave wrong/biased/one-sided context instead of no context. Just a brief personal review should be very much good enough. If the commenter truly wants to figure it out, they can google their name

2025-12-08 05:36:37 +0000 UTCOn the note of voice messages and the inadequacy of text for meaningful communication: I'm 24 and all my friends call each other (mostly through discord though a little on the traditional phone) and rarely text except to say "hop in VC", or "you free?". I feel like the stereotype for young people is that we only want to text and are petrified of answering a voice call, and I don't know if my circle is the exception because I dislike texting and trained all my friends to call, or if GenZ more broadly has actually moved towards a more voice forward communication environment.

2025-12-08 03:59:43 +0000 UTCYou guys do a great job both on these and the regular show. I can see how you guys are evolving as you figure out what works better for you but I wouldn't take comments like some of the ones you guys talked about today seriously, I feel like a lot of the opinions you guys spoke about today from commenter are pretty fringe (ie Doug talks too much, give a full rundown on every bad thing every person referenced has done) If you spent half the episode giving disclaimers for what every person you referenced that episode did, the episodes would be a lot less discussion filled.

2025-12-07 18:04:16 +0000 UTC“Doug is a douchebag for not inspiring the largest workers strike in human history minutes before his flight takes off” The problem with the internet is that anyone can use it.

2025-12-07 03:33:23 +0000 UTCGreat ep, as an aside for Doug’s comment about nurses, the way that federal student loans are rewarded has recently changed. Nurses are no longer considered “professionals” and are cut out from some of the bigger loan options available. How that affects the amount of incoming nurses in the future, I’m not entirely sure but just thought I’d point that out

2025-12-06 19:41:06 +0000 UTCWhereas I actually don't mind at all. At worst it reinforces my learning/understanding, at best there's more depth or context or a different perspective on one vs. the other.

2025-12-06 16:30:42 +0000 UTCI know Atrioc isn’t going to like this, but I’ve noticed I’m watching the YouTube videos less, since I already know it’s more than likely going to be talked about on the podcast, so my watch time has gone down. I know Atrioc said this was one of his worries, but I’m not sure anything can be done about it. I still enjoy the content overall.

2025-12-06 03:05:08 +0000 UTCI agree with Atriocs point at focusing on the arguments. Politics can be exhausting when everyone is just attacking everyone else's character rather than policies and potential solutions.
