The Suicide Squad Favorite Scene: Well, there's a lot, but I’ve been infrequently listening to Louis Prima’s Just a Gigolo by coincidence lately, so Harley Quinn’s escape is definitely on my mind. What I’d Change: Have this be DC’s first Suicide Squad movie instead. It probably would have done way better at the box office. Most Surprising Thing: That it was not only good, but great. Black Adam Favorite Scene: That Sabbac gets haphazardly introduced in the last act with only the faintest hint of his existence, just so we can have a climactic big CGI fight. Amazing lazy screenwriting 101. What I’d Change: So much, including the movie not being made in the first place, but I’d cut out the intro narration, so superfluous. Most Surprising Thing: This movie made more money than The Flash and The Marvels. Amazing in retrospect, but it also speaks to how far the comic book movie brand has fallen in the years since then. Oh, and my power went out last night, so I was unable to post my Justice League thoughts. So here’s an added bonus. Favorite Scene: Superman’s return and subsequent flight is actually a moment in this film that plays exponentially better than in the original. Oh, and can’t forget the iconic The Flash enters the speedverse moment, which became the recipient of the first best blockbuster award moment at the Oscars. An Oscar that they proceeded to disband because they realized how useless and unnecessary it actually was. What I’d Change: Aside from cutting it short, the plot also needed some fine-tuning from the ground up. Most Surprising Thing: That Warner Brothers, a major studio, gave in to fan demand to begin with.

How often do I get to say THAT about a comic book movie? - Thing I Would Change: I didn’t need the Weasel tag at the end. Just let me linger on the emotion of the final beat with Bloodshot and Sebastian. Biggest Surprise: That they made a DCEU film that I can say is great from beginning to end without any caveats!
