May Round Up!

June is here at last! It's a big birthday month for me, and I'm celebrating with a new reward! Everyone in the $7 tier and up will be receiving the header images as a physical postcard! I'm calling this project Postcards From a Better Future...

If you're in the $7 tier all you need to do is make sure your address is up to date! If you want to get in on June's shipment, upgrade your pledge by Friday 6/7.

If you'd just like to get a few of the postcards, I'm also offering limited-month bundles outside Patreon. The price is in CAD and balanced so that Patreon is a better deal on the per month basis.

I'm going to do this for at least one full year and then together we can assess how it's working out :)

In light of this change I've also changed the name of the tiers... to "Pixels", "Postcards", and "Parcels".

Everything else will stay exactly the same, but I'm hoping this will be easier for new people to understand going forward. ^^

This month there was a new gym comic, and a new doodleboat cove comic about the education system in Skuttleboat Cove...

A lot of development work this month! I finally got the first chapter beats nailed down! And I created a new map of the cove illustrating where everyone lives.

In addition to some product samples being shipped out, this month I shared the pencils from a client project I'm working on.

sigh social media, you guys. 🤦‍♀️This month in the broader hellscape Instagram is pushing out some kind of "opt out" to have all your data trained into a generative algorithm, except I haven't received it? I don't really know what to do about it, I don't have the space to process it. A lot of artists are jumping onto cara, now? I'm just letting you know that the "jammyness" there is indeed me but I don't have the energy to deal with it right now.

It was a good month for Indie Animation!!!!! In addition to the newest eps of Helluva Boss and Amazing Digital Circus, there was a new Lackadaisy Short, this sweet short about robots, and also this strange 2D/stop motion hybrid that was really interesting.

I also really enjoyed this surprising uh... retrospective? Historical research piece? About Pokemon Gold/Silver.

I was sick this month! So annoying! The one silver lining is that while bound to the couch I finally finished Disco Elysium. I thought I'd done a really bad job until I watched some videos and realized that "being bad at it" is kind of the whole point, so. But I really enjoyed it! I'd like to do another run soon.
