[RSM] Chapter 112. Consequences

Comments

Did the emperor not give Tundra some protection. Have the 2 shadows he sent not reached him yet?

Charles handgis

Hmm. That's some severe overreach by the Prince. Yet it seems to me that the Emperor himself would have agents, informants, and information networks around each of his children to keep tabs on what they're doing if/when he ever wants information. With these public decrees word will surely get to him as fast as his informants can communicate it. With Tundra's name on the list, the Emperor (and Princess, for whatever that's worth) wouldn't let that slide, the loss of Tundra would be a huge deal and the only two people who know for certain how big of a deal that is, the Emperor and Princess, would act quickly and decisively. Imo, Tundra's best play, even if he isn't aware of it, is to sit there in that safe realm while the Emperor gets word of what's going on and shows up with his personal staff (including investigators and alechemists) to personally take control of the situation. So what is Tundra going to do? He doesn't even realize how much they value his pills, or by extension him. With action is going to be unnecessary risk, but I can't see Tundra just taking a nap for a few weeks. The White Sword isn't particularly forthcoming with information, but if they're as loyal to the throne as they say then there's a good chance they'll seek to get word to the Emperor and facilitate transporting the Emperor and/or his people through their realm if that would speed along a response. But that might not be necessary, there might be other and faster ways for the Emperor to become informed and to act. I'm stumped. I don't know how Tundra will get out of this situation without his value being exposed to the Zuja, given that the Zuja are on high alert regarding alchemists and his name is already on the list. If the Emperor comes looking for him openly and with force, that'll tip them off, so I don't think that'll happen. But the Emperor can't entrust this to the Princess, since she doesn't necessarily have the political impact locally and the raw power to enforce her will against her brother and his loyalists. Hm. All I can say is that I think the Emperor is coming, but idk beyond that. Maybe I'm wrong entirely. Gah. Great chapter, more questions than answers! Thanks!
