Poll 83 Results, Poll 84 and This Week
Added 2025-08-18 08:08:31 +0000 UTCModern Infantry Firepower scraped through with a win this week- I'll think of something, but I'm very tempted to switch up the format for the Shorts. The infantry test in particular relies a lot on spotting, which we all know is mercurial.
That could potentially tie into this week's Basics video. Just like I went over the vehicle mobility tests, it might be worth coming up with some kind of standardised testing for infantry squads.
I'm thinking in terms of rounds downrange at different distances (as opposed to the current time/ammo to kill a three man team), antitank effectiveness at different distances (would we need a standard target set for that?), equipment carried (body armour, binoculars, thermals etc) and C2 equipment (nothing through to sat-PDAs). I reckon I can condense that into less than a minute with some graphics, then condense it all down to a score of some description.
Or I could cover IEDs in Shock Force, because the mechanics for using them are currently buried in the Uncon Formation guide and that's... holy moley, coming up on 6 years old.
Oooof, that was a bit of a hit for Monday morning.
Anyway, I'll come up with something. In the meantime, we're back round to WW2 for this week's poll:
