Status Update

I'm not dead! I swear!

Work's been busy, and I'm in the middle of a move, so progress has not been as fast as I'd like, plus I had some minor event shifting that required a rewrite of most of Episode 10 (the marching cadence and PT session I had planned to feature make more sense later in the story). The current draft is up for all you Draklings and above.

I'll be working on Episode 10 when I can, and hopefully I'll have a new apartment set up within the next week or so, and I'll be able to start cranking things out at a better pace again. Depending on internet access in the meantime, I may or may not have another update to the draft before publishing.

I'm looking forward to getting through the next couple chapters. I don't think Episode 10 will be as long as some of the others, but Episode 11 is going to poke into some of the magical mechanics with another trip to Earth.

Episode 12 will begin the next phase in the story, from the Hero Squad's perspective, with the arrival of the artificer team, and you'll get to learn some more details about keshmin/Ganlin social dynamics, and Rinn's place in his society, plus the fun of grunts looking for creative ways to use magic to cause destruction and mayhem (and not always on the battlefield).

That will be a multi-episode arc, though somewhere around Episode 13 or 14 we'll take a trip to a nearby Ganlin town, with a variety of antics ensuing there.

The war will continue to advance, and once the Allies have managed to get their shit in a sock, the Hero Squad will absolutely be at the tip of the spear thrusting into Langstrom's offensive.

We'll also take a peak or two into Tyriel's misadventures along the way, and as the war advances, we'll get a few looks at other units and operations (though they'll mostly be side stories and one-offs).

I also have some commissions that I've been sitting on, mostly because I wanted their presentation to do them justice and I haven't had time to do that (and because some are a large set that's still being worked on). I'll be putting those out in the next few weeks.

Now that my schedule will be stabilizing a little more (it'll get plenty busy at times, but once the move's finished, it'll be a bit more predictable/manageable on my end), I'm hoping to get that Q&A session I mentioned a while back put together. More on that in the next few weeks, as well.

Moving forward, I'm also considering shifting to a monthly update schedule, at least for the main episodes. It seems like they're coming out about that often, anyway (give or take), and if I can start churning them out faster again, I'll be able to get a buffer set up to give you guys a more regular fix. I'm still not sure on that one, though; I've gotta do some thinking on it, and I probably won't make a final decision until I see how my schedule and free time shake out.

Heyo, just wanted to throw it out there that I love your work, and my girlfriend happens to live less than 5 minutes from where you placed the portal, so if you ever need some area research done, I'm totally down
