Retreat, Hell - Artwork and Updates

So, I posted this all on Reddit, and completely forgot to actually hit post over here... >_<

But I've got more recent updates!

So, the first major update I've got is my plans for a Q&A session. I was originally looking at doing this before Christmas, but I didn't have a whole lot of time to do much setting up BEFORE this week, and at this point, it's probably a bit short-notice. So, I'm setting the date for my first Q&A session on Saturday, the 28th of December, at 1700 Eastern Time.

I'll be streaming on Twitch, and you can find me there at https://www.twitch.tv/ilithi_dragon

Episode 11 is coming along nicely. It's not quite done, but now that I'm off for the holiday, I have a LOT more time to sit down and chunk things out. I'm expecting to have it done and published here on Patreon at some point over the weekend (probably Saturday, maybe Sunday).

Episode 12 will be moving the plot forward, bringing in some more keshmin characters, and setting things up for a few further adventures in the near-term storyline.

I also got some work done on future events in the story, including a mostly-finished half-episode that visits some other characters that I know you guys will enjoy, but that I'm not going to share for a bit yet because spoilers. If nothing else, I might use it as a reserve buffer in case writing gets delayed.

I'm also shifting to a nominally once-a-month schedule for the main episodes. It won't necessarily be at the same time each month, and work keeps me busy enough that I might not be able to get an episode out every month, but I'll try to get at least one whole-numbered episode a month. If I get ahead, I'll hold them as a buffer unless I get really far ahead, and half-numbered episodes will be posted as they are completed (and fit in with the story timeline).

I also have a holiday special I'll be posting shortly. } : = 8 D

Now, for what you've all been waiting for, artwork time!

First, u/Tanamr has compiled all current episodes into epub format, and intends to regularly update the file with new releases. It is currently organized in order of release, which is mostly in chronological order in-universe (except for the declaration of war).

Second, u/Spear99 has created this WIP scene from first battle, along with a process video. He is still working on this one, and is particularly revising the mage tower (I think he's on rev 4 or 5, last I talked to him about it).

Third, I have commissioned work from two artists, u/JustThatOtherDude, and Shintori of https://unitypressdigital.com/! Both are just character profiles at this time, though I'm planning to commission more, ranging from a couple characters together to full scenes and cover art.

u/JustThatOtherDude has completed these two profiles of Bradford and Rinn:

Shintori is producing a larger set for the Hero Squad, though they're not complete. Given the number of profiles I'm commissioning, we opted to do all the characters (or, at least, the initial set of the Hero Squad and a couple other notables), and then do the clothing all as one or two sets, rather than a dozen or more different sets. These ones are a bit NSFW:

Comments

Thats exactly what I thought too travis

They were a heavy inspiration. It's also worth noting, though it hasn't been mentioned yet, Rinn is something of a Cyrano de Bergerac, with his snout being larger than usual. There is also a fair deal of variation in snout size and shape among the keshmin.
