Chapter 78 Super Regeneration & Sharingan

Six months quickly passed, and it was now the 50th year since Konoha’s founding.

During that time, the Hidden Star Village had changed drastically. Compared to half a year ago, the village had grown far more prosperous, and everyone knew the reason: their Fourth Hoshikage, Naru Rihan.

Because of him, the man once called Konoha’s Lightning Flash became the most respected figure in the entire Star Village.

Outside the village, the wider Shinobi World had entered a fragile peace. Most nations avoided large wars, leaving only minor conflicts. The one major battle still ongoing was between Konoha and the Hidden Cloud Village.

The Cloud shinobi couldn’t understand why Konoha hadn’t sent their rising hero, the Lightning Flash, to the front lines. But seeing that advantage, Kumogakure attacked fiercely, nearly pushing Konoha to its limits.

In that desperate hour, the new generation stepped forward: Kakashi, Sarutobi Asuma, the steadfast Shiranui Genma, Mitarashi Anko, Guy—the Blue Beast of Konoha, and Renjiro’s renowned squad.

Guided by the sharp mind of Nara Shikaku, they managed to halt the enemy’s advance. Their efforts allowed Konoha to endure and drag the fight into a drawn-out conflict, the kind of war the village knew best.

In the end, Renjiro’s absence didn’t change the course of the larger stage. While he still kept watch over his comrades, most of his time was spent hidden away in his laboratory, focused on his new research.

---

A month later.

Renjiro held up a vial of glowing crimson liquid under the lamplight. The color was so bright it seemed almost alive.

“Finally… the Body Enhancement Serum.” He whispered, his voice carried both excitement and exhaustion.

This was the result of more than half a year of research.

As its name suggested, the serum was created to strengthen the human body itself. It was one of Renjiro’s greatest accomplishments from studying Hashirama’s cells.

Three months earlier, Arkain had already cracked the secrets of those cells. Renjiro could have given himself some of Hashirama’s legendary abilities at any time—but he hadn’t rushed to do so.

After all, Orochimaru himself had once explained what made Hashirama’s body so extraordinary: an unmatched life force that granted incredible regeneration, endless stamina, and a body that bordered on immortality.

Renjiro grimaced. What was he supposed to do—stuff random organs into himself like some mad experiment? That kind of approach was crude and reckless.

Instead, he focused on the mystery of Hashirama’s Cells. Hidden within them was the ultimate key: a life force so powerful it could eliminate rejection entirely, letting any organ or tissue take root as though it had always belonged.

In theory, Hashirama’s Cells could revolutionize organ transplantation. They suppressed immune rejection, the very thing that usually caused transplants to fail.

On top of that, they supplied boundless vitality, allowing a new heart, lung, or kidney to integrate and function almost immediately.

And Renjiro had done it. Against Arkain’s analytical power, no cell could hide its secrets. He uncovered the mechanism by which Hashirama’s Cells adapted to foreign tissues and prevented rejection, creating the perfect foundation for his research.

With that foundation in place, Renjiro turned his attention to two legendary powers: the Sharingan and Wood Release.

His Sharingan research soon hit a dead end, he had other plans for that. Instead, it was the First Hokage’s cells that showed results first.

At first, Renjiro sought Wood Release. Its reputation was unmatched, a power known across history. But the outcome left him disappointed, what he gained was feeble, no stronger than Yamato’s limited Wood Release. It carried the name, but lacked the substance.

Then he understood why. True Wood Release didn’t come from Hashirama’s cells alone. It was fueled by Asura’s chakra, that ancient inheritance which had raised Hashirama’s Wood-style to an unparalleled level. Without it, all Renjiro could create was a shallow imitation.

So, he abandoned that pursuit. Instead, he redirected his efforts toward the Senju clan’s terrifying physical strength. Their bodies, while not possessing the boundless chakra reserves of the Uzumaki, still far surpassed normal humans. Tsunade herself was living proof of that power.

More than anything, Renjiro had set his sights on Hashirama’s legendary regeneration. On the battlefield, that ability was nothing short of a cheat code.

The problem was simple: that gift belonged to Hashirama alone. Even Tsunade could only imitate it by burning through her own life force with the Yin Seal: Release.

But Arkain was no ordinary tool. By dissecting the secrets of Hashirama’s cells and merging them with Renjiro’s own adjustments, it created an answer, the serum now glowing in his hand.

If taken, it would grant him chakra reserves ten times greater than an ordinary shinobi and a healing ability far beyond the natural limit.

Yet this was more than Hashirama’s legacy. The breakthrough came from isolating and taming the very trait that made his cells so dangerous, their overwhelming vitality, their hunger to consume and dominate everything they touched. Left unchecked, that aggressiveness would have torn any host apart from the inside.

It had taken countless refinements and failures, trial after trial. But at last, Renjiro had done it. The serum was no longer a curse. It was a weapon, perfected, mastered, and tailored to his body alone.

---

“Let’s see what you can do.” Renjiro muttered, his voice was trembling with anticipation.

He uncorked the vial and drank it in one gulp.

Glup!

“Arkain, begin monitoring.”

The effect was instant.

“Ahhh!”

Agony tore through him the moment the serum hit his system. His muscles convulsed, his veins bulged, and every cell in his body screamed in pain. The pain raged for a full hour, soaking his clothes with sweat until they clung to his skin.

But beneath the torment, he felt it—an overwhelming surge. His chakra roared like a tidal wave, expanding far beyond anything he had ever known.

“This… this is ten times the chakra?!”

Still gasping for breath, Renjiro’s lips curled into an excited grin: “Arkain! Show me the data!”

A holographic display lit up before his eyes.

[Beep! Host cells undergoing mutation…]

[Cell strength, density, and activity increasing…]

[Progress: 7%… 29%… 67%… 99%… 100%!]

[Beep! Modification completed! Host cell strength, density, and activity increased more than tenfold.]

[Result: host now possesses ten times former chakra capacity and rapid regeneration.]

“Perfect!” Renjiro shouted, exhilarated.

“Arkain—record these abilities. Name it Super Regeneration.”

[Beep! Confirmed… Name recorded.]

“Let’s put it to the test.”

Renjiro pulled out a kunai and sliced across his palm. Blood welled up for a brief moment, but then, right before his eyes, the wound sealed shut. Flesh and skin knitted together at an astonishing speed.

It wasn’t on the level of Hashirama’s legendary recovery, nor as instant as Tsunade’s Yin Seal, but it was fast enough to terrify any enemy who faced him.

“Perfect.” he whispered once more, a satisfied smile appeared on his face.

With this, his strength had broken into an entirely new realm. Ten times the chakra. Ten times the healing speed. Techniques he once held back, like his Thunder God Mode, were now within reach.

And this was only the beginning.

Renjiro believed that one day, his body and chakra would stand on par with Hashirama’s, or even go beyond. Perhaps, one day, he would reach a level to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Tailed Beasts themselves… even the Nine-Tails.

---

Another six months slipped by in the blink of an eye.

Deep inside Hoshigakure’s underground laboratory, Renjiro lay stretched out on a bed while his shadow clones prepared an infusion.

For half a year, he had poured himself into researching the Sharingan, and now, at last, the results were ready.

“Arkain, monitor my body in real time during the infusion… especially my eyes.” Renjiro ordered inwardly.

His clones gave a sharp nod, then inserted the needles into his arms.

“Phew…” Renjiro exhaled slowly, bracing himself as he waited for the reaction.

At first, there was nothing. Silence. Stillness. But then it began—his body convulsed violently, the same way it had when he first consumed the Body Enhancement Serum.

Muscle spasms ripped through him, followed by waves of scorching pain that tore through every cell.

“Damn it!” He hissed, his handsome face contorted with agony.

“Hold on!” One of the clones urged, trying to keep his focus steady.

Puffff!

Within moments, Renjiro’s concentration shattered. His shadow clones flickered out of existence as the technique collapsed, but it no longer mattered. The pain had already consumed him.

Then it struck, his eyes ignited with fire, a burning torment so fierce it felt as though molten chili juice had been poured directly into them.

“Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!”

He cursed through clenched teeth, vowing that if he ever attempted genetic modifications again, he would invent a painless method, or at the very least use anesthetics. This was hell itself.

“Ahhh!” Renjiro’s painful scream tore through the chamber.

The torture dragged on for over an hour, each second stretched into eternity. When the final drop of serum coursed into his veins, the torment reached its climax, a surge so violent he nearly lost consciousness.

Even with his iron will, the pain nearly drove him into darkness.

But then, at the very peak of his suffering, it changed.

A cool sensation blossomed in his eyes, soothing and sharp at once.

In the next instant, a wave of pure relief swept through his body, washing away the agony and leaving only an indescribable comfort that radiated to every corner of his being.

---

“Ahhh… that feels good.” Renjiro exhaled a low groan of relief.

His body felt stronger than ever, several times more powerful than his usual state. But it was his eyes that stood out most.

They pulsed with overwhelming energy, so intense it made him uneasy, as though the power itself didn’t quite fit inside him.

He sat up abruptly, snatched the mirror he had set aside, and stared into his reflection.

“As I thought… I succeeded.”

Looking back at him was the face of a handsome young man—but with eyes transformed. Crimson orbs gleamed with a strange light, marked not by tomoe, but by black crosses.

These were not ordinary Sharingan. No, while they were indeed Sharingan, their form was different, unique.

Renjiro had no interest in flaunting ordinary Uchiha eyes. He refused to look like Danzo or Orochimaru, pathetic scavengers who clung to stolen power.

With Arkain’s help, he had rewritten the genetic expression of his eyes during their awakening. The result was his own creation: Sharingan reimagined, not with tomoe, but with a cross.

It was childish vanity, perhaps, but Renjiro couldn’t deny that he thought it looked cool.

More importantly, the altered design ensured the Uchiha clan wouldn’t come after him. The eyes resembled theirs, but they were not the same.

He hadn’t stolen an Uchiha’s Sharingan like Orochimaru or Danzo, and he had no interest in provoking unnecessary conflict.

Not that Renjiro feared the Uchiha—far from it. But pointless trouble was still trouble, and if it could be avoided, he would rather not waste his energy on it.

Ordinary Sharingan held three core abilities, reflected by their tomoe: Heightened Perception, the power to Copy Ninjutsu, and Genjutsu.

But Renjiro’s cross-shaped Sharingan was different. With four arms to its design, it carried four abilities. The first three matched the standard Sharingan. The fourth, however, was unique—Acceleration.

And not merely physical speed. It was Mental Acceleration.

True cognitive speed, a mind racing so far ahead of reality that it bordered on Bullet Time.

By embedding the principle into his ocular cells with Arkain’s genetic mastery, Renjiro could now perform Thought Acceleration himself, rather than relying on Arkain’s support.

Thus, his Sharingan didn’t just differ in form, it possessed an additional power: the Thought Acceleration ability.

---

But that was not the end.

Renjiro closed his eyes. When he opened them again, the change was unmistakable.

What had once been black pupils with crimson crosses now inverted—the pupils glowed blood-red, while the crosses turned pitch black.

That’s right. Renjiro had awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan.

Or more precisely, his own unique form of Mangekyō, unlike any other.

For him, the awakening had never been a matter of possibility, only of timing. His spiritual power was extraordinary, and he had gathered ten Sharingan—all sharing the same bloodline origin. Fusing that vast ocular energy with his own indomitable will made this evolution inevitable.

“Arkain, status report. Is everything stable?” Renjiro asked, his voice was steady despite the storm of power burning in his eyes.

[Beep! Host’s Condition: Stable.]

A translucent interface shimmered into view before him, strings of diagnostic data scrolling rapidly.

[Current State: Three Times Baseline.]

[Vision: Amplified Tenfold.]

[Ocular Powers Detected: Perception, Copying, Genjutsu, Acceleration.]

Moments later, Arkain’s mechanical voice echoed again in his mind.

[Beep! Host’s eyes undergoing further evolution…]

[Current State: Five Times Baseline.]

[Vision: Amplified Twentyfold.]

[Ocular powers stabilizing…]

Renjiro dismissed the floating data with a wave of his hand: “That’s enough. I’ll experience the Mangekyo Sharingan’s abilities myself.”

He stepped out of the lab and into the vast underground training hall built alongside it. The air was still, heavy with anticipation.

“Let’s test this.”

Renjiro flicked a handful of shuriken into the air. Then he raised his hand.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

The blades suddenly twisted mid-flight, curving unnaturally before streaking back toward him. Instead of cutting his flesh, they stopped against his palm, as though drawn by an unseen force.

“As I suspected…”

Whoosh! Whoosh!

With a casual motion, he spread his fingers, and the shuriken lifted once again, hovering in the air, obedient to his will.

“Magnetism… this is unexpected.” His voice was calm, but his eyes gleamed with excitement at this revelation.
