Various Sketches
Added 2020-09-25 00:49:51 +0000 UTCHi everyone, and thanks for being here. I planned to do another CQ retrospective around now, but this month ended up being busier than I expected. I look forward to someday being able to share what I've been working on.
Since the end of the month is around the corner, I've decided to delay the retrospective a bit and post something else today.
If you follow me on Twitter, you may have seen my art of some characters from another...well, I hesitate to call it a "project" because that suggests that I'm "making something" with it. These are just characters that have lived in my head for a long time, and I have fun thinking about them. Please don't expect anything more than that.
If you haven't been following me on Twitter and have no idea what I'm talking about, here's one sketch I posted there already:
These two are Loic and Ysme. I've been referring to them as "🌼" and "💎", which is probably obnoxious, but I didn't want to commit too hard to names I might change.
Ysme was "adapted" from a different character I wasn't happy with. So, a few months ago, I drew this sexy clown. Her design has evolved since, but I still like this look, so it might find some use. The previous iteration of this character was maybe 4 years old.
Loic, on the other hand, has been around forever. Like 15 years at this point? I've struggled with his design for a long time, but I feel like I'm finally getting a handle on it.
They are treasure hunters brought together by strange circumstances who roam the world exploring ruins and getting into trouble. Loic is a mild-mannered florist; Ysme is a crass, money-hungry clown. Those are the most important facts.
NOTE: I should probably mention at this point that some of the language in the following sketches is unsuitable for children.
