End of Year Update
Added 2023-12-10 20:39:48 +0000 UTCHey everyone,
Just giving you an update on what’s going on. I'm about half way through Safe Mode episode 07, animating and producing the music for it. It’s taking a while longer than usual because it's a particular emotional episode, and I'm also working on more music, for the episode, but another standalone EP.
I don't know if I've ever expressed this, by the writing for episodes is often a mirror reflection of my state of mind at the time of creation. Karolina calls it "method writing", as if I'm a method actor and need to live through the mindset of my own characters. So when I'm writing something particularly dark it becomes difficult.
As time goes on my willpower to animate diminishes and my desire to write music increases. I wish it wasn't this way, because I know a good percentage of you support me for my animations. Anyways, thank you for being such a patient and supportive group of people. Stuff is happening in the BG.
Hope you all have a warm holiday season, and merry Christmas.
Justin

I get as much value from Hexsystem music as I do for Umami animations. Nuclear Summer and No Confluence EP are regular rotations in my music playlist, and like the whole of both EP's not just one or two songs. Your body of work as a whole have made and continue to make supporting your work worthwhile. Cheers.

2023-12-14 15:59:48 +0000 UTCTake all the time you need friend, art takes time, patience and the headspace for it. Also it's understandable that you're getting diminishing willpower to animate, it takes an enormous amount of time and effort. Personally I do enjoy your music, although I did subscribe for the animations. Take all the time you need, take a break if needed

2023-12-11 01:00:38 +0000 UTCPlease take your time and follow your passions. I can't speak for anybody else but I signed up specifically so that you would feel less pressure to crank out "content" to please the algorithm. Merry Christmas, my parasocial friend

2023-12-10 20:50:25 +0000 UTCI think it's understandable to have the desire to animate diminish over time. It takes an enormous amount of effort to produce even a mediocre animation of short length, whereas quality music can be created in a significantly shorter time. You also can't really improvise animation whereas improvisation is a key part of music creation. It's fine to take breaks from both though.
