deck.blue v2.11 is up!

Hello, everyone! The December update is finally upon us and with it the most requested feature ever: Chat columns!

Before we get into what's in the update, an actual update about the future of deck.blue: this should be the last feature-rich update for deck.blue v2. Starting next year, while I don't get a new job, I'll work on deck.blue's v3 full-time. Which means I'll be rewriting the whole app in React (web, not native) for the many reasons I've already talked before here (please check out the other update posts!). deck.blue v2 will still receive bug-fixing updates and a few minor updates to scheduling while this is going, but I really need to get v3 done and the only way to do that is stopping developing new features altogether.

Thank you all so much for your support as deck.blue is now my only source of income and it has been helping me a lot. If deck.blue keeps growing as it is, I might even be able to turn it into my full-time job and that would be amazing for me. I'm truly grateful to have so many people using the app and supporting me in a way that I never expected to have.

v2.11.0

• Chat columns! Provided your app password allows for DM access, you can now add Chat columns! It should work pretty similarly to how TweetDeck did, you'll see a list of chats and clicking to open any chat will open it inside that column. You can also create new chats with the + button in the bottom right corner. Please let me know if I missed anything!

• Trending topics! Yes, finally. When searching for something, you can now see the trending topics in Bluesky as a whole and also see some suggested feeds to add to your columns!

• Search sorting options! You can now change search column's sort type to either Latest or Top! Latest comes on by default, but if you want to see the top posts related to your search query, just change that in the column settings!

• Thread sorting options! To go with Bluesky's 1.96 update, deck.blue now also has Latest and Top options for reply sorting in threads!

• Notification column updates! Notification filters are now using Bluesky's new API to change which notifications to show instead of manually filtering them, so the column should behave way better compared to before. This also solves the infinite loading issue and another one where changing filters would break the column display

• Many other bug fixes and minor performance improvements are also available with this version! Please report those via DM or through hello@deck.blue!

Chat FAQ

• My chat column isn't loading! What can I do? - If it's your main account, please logout and login again with a proper app password that allows DM access! If it's a secondary account, click the Accounts icon (the one above settings in the lower left corner), select the account, then "Relink" to login with an app password that allows DM access.

• Can you see my messages? No, everything is client-side and absolutely nothing is being stored regarding your DMs; if you don't believe me, feel free to check the Network tab in your browser's developer tools!
