Chapter 218: Matt’s Brutal Beating

By the time Matt finally exited the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Station, it was already getting dark. He had no choice but to board a train still in operation, heading back into the city.

After arriving in Tokyo, Matt found a simple inn to stay at. He immediately donned his tactical gear and set out for his first attempt at tracking down the Hand Union's activities in the city.

Fortunately, Matt's mentor had warned him that the lower-level members of the Hand Union often had connections with underground organizations, including the yakuza. While the Hand Union itself wasn't easy to find, Tokyo's nightlife, especially in the red-light districts, provided plenty of opportunities to track down the yakuza at night.

After interrogating a few troublesome drunks, Matt managed to gather some information. However, during the questioning, he was a bit too rough, beating the gang members so badly they were crying for mercy.

Reflecting on the frustrating events of the day, Matt considered it a form of release.

In the Adachi Ward of Tokyo, Matt quickly noticed the chaotic atmosphere of Kabukicho and the many thieves roaming the streets. Within an hour, he had already knocked out three petty thieves—most of them were either stealing bikes or motorcycles. There were also plenty of drunkards stumbling around. Matt couldn't help but feel like he had returned to New York’s worst slums. It seemed that no matter where you went, poverty-stricken areas were always rife with crime and disorder.

But soon, Matt noticed something strange—the previously chaotic area suddenly became eerily quiet.

As he observed, Matt realized that a large convoy of cars had arrived, and a group of familiar people had gotten out.

At the front of the group was someone Matt immediately recognized.

"Damn it! It's that guy!" Matt cursed under his breath. The leader was none other than Uchiha Honoka.

It became clear that Adachi Ward was likely the headquarters of the Hand Union in Tokyo. Uchiha Honoka had come here to investigate the Hand Union’s activities.

As for why Matt recognized Honoka so well, it was because this very man had been the one to beat him up the last time they crossed paths.

Unfortunately for Matt, Honoka spotted him in the crowd—yes, Matt was certain that Honoka’s gaze was fixed directly on him.

Without thinking, Matt quickly began to retreat, but before he could get far, he was intercepted by two kids. These children were dressed in clothes with intricate embroidery, matching the design on Honoka's ping-pong paddle emblem.

The two kids—a boy and a girl—were none other than Uchiha Tanaka and Uchiha Sachiko, both elite chunin-level ninjas.

"Move aside!" Matt didn’t want to harm the children, but before he could even consider his options, the two kids launched an attack. The girl delivered a powerful punch that sent Matt reeling, dazing him slightly. Fortunately, Matt managed to evade a follow-up kunai strike.

As he recovered, Matt muttered to himself, "Damn it, did I offend you ninja brats? Why do you keep showing up in Tokyo?"

"I don’t want to hurt you!" Matt protested.

But Uchiha Sachiko and Uchiha Tanaka exchanged a quick glance before responding in unison, "We think you're up to no good, so we intend to hurt you."

After ten minutes of fighting, Matt was thrown to the ground and forced into custom handcuffs.

Seeing Matt's bruised and battered face, it seemed like he was trying to discreetly open the handcuffs, but Sachiko coldly dashed his hope.

"Don’t even try. These are handcuffs made by the Yashida Group, specifically designed for superhuman individuals. Unless your arm strength exceeds 50 tons, you won’t be able to break them. The lock mechanism is fake, and no key will unlock them. The only way to get out is to cut them off."

Sachiko's words cast a dark shadow over Matt's thoughts. Who would make handcuffs like these? It was clear they never intended for someone to escape.

The two kids then escorted Matt to Uchiha Honoka, who stood waiting.

"Captain, we've brought the person you wanted," Tanaka reported.

"Are you here for revenge?" Matt was incredulous. "You’ve chased me all the way from New York to Tokyo?"

"I’m not..." Matt started to explain, but Honoka immediately punched him square in the face. Then, the beating began—a relentless, one-sided assault.

"I came to find the Hand Union..." Matt gasped, barely able to speak through the blows. "Not... not to find you."

"You're really not here for me?" Honoka asked, his expression awkward as he stopped for a moment.

However, remembering that the clan leader had always told him to beat Matt whenever they crossed paths, Honoka quickly dismissed his hesitation.

"Well, it doesn’t matter. You’re interfering with our mission."

"Please stop! I just want to know why every time I see you, you beat me up. Sure, I’ve gotten in your way before, like when I stopped you from cleaning up Hell’s Kitchen, but now I’m not interfering with you! I’m just trying to find information about the Hand Union to save my girlfriend. What have I done wrong?" Matt’s frustration was palpable, his battered face only adding to the sincerity of his words.

"We're here to clean up the Hand Union. You don’t need to be looking for them—it's right around here," Honoka replied, unmoved by Matt’s plea.

"Then why are you beating me up?" Matt's grievance was overwhelming. It wasn’t just about being beaten—it was the repeated, senseless violence he couldn’t understand.

"Captain, there's a problem at a Kabukicho club up ahead. It’s likely a Hand Union hideout," one of the local thugs reported.

This thug, who appeared to be just a low-level gangster, was well-informed about the area. The Uchiha clan had no intelligence operations in Adachi, as it wasn’t deemed worth the resources.

"Let’s go, quickly. We’ll locate the Hand Union’s base and handle them. Anyone who dares to strike us will pay the price," Honoka ordered.

Not caring that Matt was still cuffed, Honoka led the group forward confidently.

Thanks to prior arrangements with the Tokyo Metropolitan Police, as long as things didn’t escalate too much, they wouldn’t interfere.

When they arrived at a Kabukicho club called "KomA Theater," most of the people had already been evacuated. Those who were lingering had been rounded up and forced to leave.

Honoka led the charge, storming into the building. As soon as they entered, two Hand Union ninjas armed with cold weapons dropped from the ceiling. Unfortunately for them, before they could even land, Honoka drew his sword and severed them in mid-air.

The severed ninjas disintegrated into dust, a sign they had been resurrected for this mission. If they had been ordinary Hand Union ninjas, there would have been a corpse left behind.

Honoka showed no mercy, cutting down anyone who came in his way. With the help of Tanaka and Sachiko, they cleared out all the Hand Union ninjas in the Kabukicho area—most of them were just cannon fodder, anyway.
