Tune in next week for part 3 of 4 in this miniseries.

The REAL Reason Algorithms are Bad For Culture (iPod Week 2)

Channel Tres is an example of an artist I discovered through Spotify's algorithms. What's odd is that when I discover an artist this way, I feel isolated in my listening. I've been listening to him regularly for about a year and I've never heard anyone say his artist name out loud until watching this video. It's very different from pre-streaming, when music discovery typically emerged from social interactions (at the very least, the Sam Goody employee scanning my CD would probably comment on it.)

I got chills when your friend suggested Peabo Bryson "Reaching for the Sky" because I own it on vinyl & just sampled the title track off the album literally 2 days ago, lol. I'll try and share it in the Show and Tell chat within the next few days. But he's absolutely right- no skips! Love the video, BShaw and enjoying following you on this journey!!! 🙏

Man, I am eager to see the conclusion to all this.
