Status Update and 2026 Plans

TLDR:

-2026 will be a year I focus more on studying than producing drawings

-No immediate changes to the Patreon structure, though there may be less art per month

-Holidays and tablet repairs will delay work for December, will update more on this later

So, what’s going on with Fila? Short answer is, I burnt out again. However, this burn out has led to me reevaluating things.

I feel like I’ve been stuck in place for the last two years and not really made any progress in a lot of aspects of my life. Relevant to this profile is the fact that I don’t feel like my art has improved much, nor has my Patreon grown at all. I feel like I’m just treading water and not making any big strides in getting to a higher skill level. This is something I’m not happy with, and as such I am going to alter how I approach art in 2026.

I know a lot of you will say you already like my art, and I really do appreciate that! But I still feel it's lacking in a lot of ways and I really want to push it further. The studying I am doing is too distracted, too unfocused. I really need to buckle down and commit to pushing my skills past where they are, so in 2026 I am going to focus on that a lot.

What will that mean for the Patreon? Well, I have no current plans to alter the content obligations I have, because in reality that’s just one exclusive picture a month and a bimonthly poll. I should be able to handle that if I’m in a better mental state. However, I am going to be less focused on constantly making new pictures and more focused on studying. I want the pictures I make (that aren’t quicker sketchy stuff) to really be pushing my skills forward in some capacity.

My hope is that the end result of this is that I will be able to make better art that is more satisfying for everyone. If you want to continue supporting me while I focus on this, I’d greatly appreciate it! But I also understand if you are more interested in raw output. I intend to focus less on growing the Patreon through constant art and more just on studying and living off my accumulated savings.

I think this will be a better move for me in the long run, but we will have to see. As for the immediate future, art this month is going to be slow because of the holidays. Also, I need to get my tablet repaired, and that could take like 15 days! Probably won’t be able to draw during that time! I’ll update you guys on when that is exactly.

For now though, I appreciate your continued support and patience. I want to be both a better artist and better person going forward. I hope 2026 will be a good year for me, and all of you as well!

-Fila

Very excited to see what you'll make and how you'll grow this upcoming year :)

There's always room for improvement so if you think you need to work on your technique then you should.
