Character sketches (Princess Serena)

These are some pencil sketches that were done almost a year ago and the progress of coming up with her face.
Some of our characters have unique features that are not shared by others (in general). Since Serena is an elf we decided to use her pointy ears as a way to show emotion. So her ears became an extra feature that was later animated when posing. Since we liked her moving ears, we later added the same feature to Lana the one-eyed beggar (who is also an elf), and all future elf characters will probably share the same characteristic.
Not all of the drawings (characters, scenes, etc.) have pencil sketches, since Chestnut sometimes draws them directly in Photoshop.
After sketching a scene or a character, Chestnut does them almost entirely in Photoshop and then adds a thin stroke to them using Adobe Illustrator (that way they look sharper and cleaner).
