Patreon's issue with patron payment declines

This post is to let you all know that Patreon is currently having an issue with processing some patrons' pledges and that if you're one of those whose payment has been declined, you are instructed by Patreon to, and I quote:
- "Contact their card issuer to confirm the charge is valid and retry that card.
- If the retry does not work, try a different payment method"
I understand that these may be quite inconvenient, and I wish Patreon was more helpful and fixed the issue on their part.

2023-08-16 19:24:02 +0000 UTCTo be clear, the “problem” with Patreon is that they changed the country they were charging people from so they could pay less tax, which banks flagged as suspicious. It’s 100% an own-goal from Patreon that they’re just pushing downhill to their customers.
