Weekly report 210

Hi everybody.

I hope you're all doing well and have had a great week. Here's a summary of what Chestnut and I have been up to:

Chestnut:

She's been working on cutscenes, drawing hands and other variations for existing events where sprites are used. The stuff she's working on right now is too spoilery, so unfortunately she hasn't been able to record art creation videos, and it involves the beginning parts of Gomira's second update.

Pistachio:

I had a lot of difficulty in the first few days of the week staying productive. It's not that I didn't try, but the energy drink cans I drink every night to stay awake just didn't work as well, and I kept having to go back and recheck the work of the night before and making adjustments (sometimes redoing parts of what was 'done'). Anyway, the short of it is that we took one day off, and came back to work after a good rest. The results were great really. I stayed awake until way after Chesnut too had woken up because I was excited to show her the changes to Gomira's ending (the part I've been redoing). She loved the new stuff, and is very excited about drawing the new placeholder cutscenes I've created (there are few, I'm sorry to say, but they're worth it). Anyway, I'm still going to be working on this event but I expect by Monday I'll be focusing on the next bit.

Next week's plan:

Chestnut is going to continue working on cutscenes. Whether she will get to begin drawing the newer stuff I've been making will depend on how soon she finishes the current event she's drawing variations for.

My goal for the next week is to finish the new parts I've added to the ending of Gomira's update, then go back to the intro, and work on the cutscene that also needs to be adjusted/redone. If I can do both of these in the coming week, I'll be a very happy developer.

That's all.

Have a wonderful wonderful weekend.

We're too close to the finish line to break what we have done into two parts. About an nsfw game not taking 2 years for an update, I can't speak for other developers nor do I follow their practices, but I do know that our updates have always taken several months. This one has taken more than what we had anticipated, but that has been due to circumstances that I don't believe will continue to happen for every release. We're not aiming to be perfect. Far from it. I have had 6 releases in the past and know that that's not how it works. but I do have a standard I want to keep, and which I am going to keep even if the release takes longer than this.

MagicNuts

I am saying whatever parts on the update, you have worked on for two years, that are polished release that. I am not a developer but I know it doesn't take 2 years to do an update. This makes you not even want to do this kind of work anymore. Do releases in small doses. You don't have to be perfect. However you bar yourself from success and investment when you operate like this. I am only responding because I assume this line of work is a passion for you and you seemed to have a lot of hurdles. So i figure I offer solution to help with the problem so you can be your best self

Boss

It's close to two years since our last update, and I know that's not good for us in any shape or form. but people have waited too long (and supported us for months and months despite everything) and they deserve a finished release (as finished as our previous updates were when we released them) with proper polish, a coherent story, and a bug-free experience. about our reports, I'm sorry that they have been mentioning a lot of challenges. I don't preplan our weekly reports and just try to share everything work-related that has happened in the week prior to the report as honestly and as transparently as I can. If the reports mentioned difficulties, that's because we've been having a difficult couple of years. It will be over.

MagicNuts

Its literally been years since you dropped an update of the actual game whatever is finished and polished you should release to build your hype back up and revenue sources. People are tired of just reading updates about the difficulty.

Boss

Don't push yourself too hard, we all appreciate what you're doing!

Please re-read all of Rossan 78's words, especially these "listen to your body. If you’re to tired to work please sleep." You simply replied with an answer that proves that you are overdoing it!

Nic

thanks! yeah, I'm careful not to drink too many or I won't be able to stop shaking the next day. I usually do go to bed if I see despite energy drink and coffee I can't keep my eyes open or nod mid work. and when we need a break, like last week, we take it

MagicNuts

Nice to hear about the progress. But please take care of you. Drinking to many energy cans is not good for you. Trust me I know! So listen to your body. If you’re to tired to work please sleep.
